Company Director Hugh McAlary was responsible for sowing the seeds of H. M. Electrics four decades ago and today he is joined in the running of the ever-burgeoning company by his son Declan who is Operations Director.

“We are very much a commercial and education sectors driven company but we also carry out some residential work as required,” Declan – who joined the family business as a 16-year-old 20 years ago – informed Building Ireland.
“After serving his apprenticeship, my father set up the business and, thankfully, it is still going strong. We endured the same bump as everyone else in the industry recently but we survived it and the company is stronger now as a result.”

“Business is going well. Our experience is a big thing that appeals to our customers while we also take great pride in our Health & Safety record. We cover all of the north and we also travel further afield if and when required. But, our main focus is on the north.”
Declan continued: “Looking ahead to the future, we’d be very optimistic that we will be able to sustain our growth. We’ve been on the go for the last 40 years so hopefully we’ll still be here in another 40 years!”
