RMC Construction Ltd is an exceptional building contracting firm specialising in new house builds, extensions, renovations and other construction services.
Based in the Co. Kilkenny village of Dungarvan, the company was established in 2017 by Richie McCormack who is joined by his wife Aoife and a 10-strong team. They are supported and supplemented by the same tried and trusted subcontractors. RMC Construction’s main suppliers are Hennessy Concrete, Chadwicks Kilkenny, Treacy’s Homevalue in Thomastown, AllStone and Dan Morrissey.
Outstanding workmanship, attention to detail, value-for-money and a commitment to working closely with clients to deliver total satisfaction are the hallmarks of the family business, with Health & Safety and sustainability also being paramount. From concept to completion, Richie and his team are with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs.
RMC Construction’s one-stop shop approach ensures that both the design and building processes are smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. The Co. Kilkenny contractor’s ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from scores of satisfied clients.
By employing highly-skilled people, working closely with design teams and using only the very best building products from local suppliers, this fully-qualified and insured contractor is able to deliver the highest quality construction to its clients.
Originally from Kilkenny city, Richie McCormack is a carpenter by trade who has been working for himself since 2014.
“I served my time with a local building contractor and stayed with him for 14 years. We were involved in all sorts of construction jobs which has stood me in good stead,” Richie explains.
“I then decided to go out on my own. I started off doing carpentry which led me to doing extensions and eventually full one-off builds. I set up the company in 2017 and we’ve been going from strength to strength ever since.
“Nearly all of our work is secured through word of mouth and recommendations from the architects and engineers we collaborate with. Our work is currently 90% residential and 10% commercial, and is concentrated in the Kilkenny and Carlow area. We definitely have ambitions to grow the commercial side of the business.”
The affable managing director adds: “What gives us the edge over other builders is our experience and expertise, and our ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. We’re reliable, easy to deal with, and only take on what we can handle. You’re only as good as your last job in this business.
“As a small business, we offer the personal touch. I’m always on site and only a phone call away from the client.
“Above all else, our people are our greatest asset. We have an amazing team, including a few lads who have been with me since the beginning. In addition, we place a strong emphasis on training, upskilling and are committed to bringing through the next generation of tradespeople.”
Beautiful, energy-efficient one-off homes are a speciality of RMC Construction. Last January, they began construction on the exclusive ‘Crann Arda’ development on the grounds of Newpark Lodge in Kilkenny.
There is never a dull moment for Richie and Aoife who have three children – Charlie, Harry and Aíne – and will hopefully follow them into the business.
Passionate about construction, Richie would like to take this opportunity to thank his clients and suppliers for their continued support as well as his expert team for their hard work and dedication.
