The Brooklyn Engineering Group consists of four specialist divisions focused on various aspects of the electrical services engineering sector. Throughout these divisions – Engineering, Communications, Aviation and TEGG Service – they aim to deliver only the highest quality installations which will meet their customers business and budgetary needs.
Under the guidance of company principals, Paul Huban and Dermot MacNamara, Brooklyn Engineering has been providing electrical engineering services within the construction industry for nearly 40 years.
Brooklyn in particular specialises in engineering, communication, aviation and TEGG maintenance services.
They have delivered on significant contracts and engaged repeat business with blue chip clients such as Diageo (e.g. at the St. James Gate Brewery in Dublin), Intel, Hewlett Packard, Vodafone, Symantec, Coca-Cola, Sisk Group, BAM, Balfour Beatty, Tara Mines and Britvic as well as international and regional airports in Ireland and abroad including the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) and the Shannon Airport Authority (SAA).
With Brooklyn’s foundations in process control and industrial automation, their business grew to be one of the most respected specialist electrical contracting firms in their industry.
Their capabilities in general electrical contracting and their expertise in more specialist areas provide them with a unique approach to delivering electrical projects.
Their highly qualified engineers and managers work together to deliver services that satisfy budget and time constraints, as well as the particular needs of the customer’s business.
They do this by ensuring that the technologies selected for each individual project reflect the bespoke requirements of each client. This leads to a more focused electrical installation which really supports the customers business processes.
With over 30 years of experience in a diverse range of industries and markets, and with a great deal of international experience, they continually enjoy repeat business from customers who see the value of employing contractors who go beyond the nuts and bolts of the typical installation.
Their Engineering Services division concentrates on delivering high quality projects in industries such as retail, commercial and public services.
Brooklyn has been providing engineering services for nearly 40 years and has delivered on significant contracts at the St. James Gate (Guinness/Diageo) Brewery and Waterford Brewery (Diageo), the Tara Mines shipping facility in Dublin Docklands, Britvic’s process facility in Dublin and on air handling units (AHUs) for Microsoft data centres.
Their Communications Services division focuses on the design, installation, and maintenance of data networks including fibre optics, copper LAN cabling, and telephony systems. Their Communications System is a registered CommScope Partner (formerly Systimax).
Brooklyn has been providing communications services for over 20 years and has delivered on significant contracts on various data systems including at Hewlett Packard, Vodafone, Symantec and Coca-Cola.
Brooklyn’s Aviation division is a leading provider of airfield electrical services including AGL (Airfield Ground Lighting), power distribution, and communications and airfield instrumentation systems.
Brooklyn has been heavily involved with aviation services for more than 25 years and has delivered on significant contracts on runways at Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport, Cork Airport, Kerry Airport and Waterford Airport as well as abroad at airports in The Maldives and Sierra Leone.
In September 2016 Brooklyn was awarded the contract for the complete electrical aeronautical ground lighting (AGL) works associated with the pavement overlay of the main 10-28 runway at Dublin Airport.
They were also successful in securing the contract for the airfield ground lighting on the overlay of the runway at Shannon Airport and commenced work on that project in early April.
Last year, meanwhile, Brooklyn Engineering were awarded the exclusive franchise rights for TEGG Service in Ireland.
Founded in 1992, TEGG Service works with facilities worldwide to prevent unplanned downtime and protect employees from dangerous electrical hazards. TEGG electrical preventative maintenance programs are implemented by their network of over 100 independently-owned contractor locations.
TEGG Service Contractors are focused on protecting commercial properties, industrial facilities, educational institutions, municipalities, data centers, and healthcare facilities from electrical hazards and interruptions in electrical service. Contractors in the network understand the challenges faced, and can provide unique solutions.
Brooklyn launched TEGG on the Irish market early this year.
“This is a huge thing for us as a company and something we’re particularly excited about,” outlined Managing Director Paul Huban. “We’re the sole TEGG provider in the Republic of Ireland and have a dedicated sales team looking after this important aspect of our operations.”
By carrying out TEGG maintenance programs you will: prevent electrical & IT systems failures, prevent business outages, prevent electrical fires, prevent early failure of equipment, reduce utility costs and provide a safe and healthy working environment.
Health & Safety is something that Brooklyn Engineering takes very seriously.
Their main priority, among all others, is to provide their team of in excess of 80 electricians and apprentices with a safe and comfortable place to work. It is their ethos that a safe employee is a productive employee. And productive employees’ delivery quality services to their customers.
This link between Health and Safety and company performance is integral in ensuring that they continually exceed their obligations.
Brooklyn Engineering are continually audited at every level within the company by their external Health and Safety Auditors which ensures not only their compliance with current legislation but also the appropriate level of agility in order to meet project and client specific Health & Safety requirements.
