 The fabrication specialists

10 Jan , 2019

Fabricating is a very skilled trade that covers a wide range of industries. And for this month’s edition of Building Ireland, we profile a fabrication company that is celebrating 15 years in business this year.

Tipperary based Cross Fabrications Ltd is owned and run by Paudie Meehan who provides an array of services that include glass balustrades, pipe fitting, powder coating, glass canopies, balconies, structural steel, mild and stainless steel.

From the companies workshop in Borrisoleigh, this business manufactures high quality products for their ever increasing customer base.

Paudie believes in keeping things simple for its customers and that the best business is built on reliable and efficient service. The company delivers solutions that are functionally efficient at the most cost-effective rates on the Irish market.

Cross Fabrications has developed a strong network of clients over the years; built on trust, sound ethics and the repetitive delivery of successful projects. That is why they are confident in their abilities to deliver an excellent service to all their customers if they are afforded that opportunity.

“We have a few companies that we would do a lot of work for. Over the past few years, we have been working closely with LIDL and any upgrades they are doing, we are usually involved,” said Paudie. “This generally sees us travel around the country, but it is a great contract to have.

Paudie added that they do a lot of work for Westin Homes, Monamai and Duggan Construction to name a few. “We have long term contracts with one or two companies and also on going contracts with a number of others”.

“It is great to have a customer base like this.”

The company’s core values are reliability, responsibility and efficiency. As a result of its high flexibility, interactive methods and agile management structure, the company can always meet its clients’ needs. It strives to exceed clients’ expectations and endeavours to become an asset to their business.

The most competitive prices are always guaranteed as Paudie explains: “We try to be as competitive on price as we can and that’s a big reason why we’ve had a successful few years in business. We try to be as competitive as possible without comprising the quality of the project.”

Paudie and his team prides themselves on the level of services they provide for their clients. This has led to many repeat customers. They listen to their customers’ needs and are always willing to go the extra mile that is required in order to deliver quality solutions. Every project they undertake, regardless of the size, is given the same level of attention to detail to ensure unrivalled customer service. They will help you design and draw up plans that will suit your needs.

Each project begins and ends with an absolute dedication to high standards and workmanship. From a one-off small job to a large project, the team are committed to high quality at every level.

Cross Fabrications Ltd’s consistently high levels of repeat business and referrals are down to the fact that they are professionals who care about build quality and client satisfaction. Their objective is to constantly deliver a friendly and approachable service and professional project management. Whether you want something traditional or ultra-modern, they will be able to listen to your ideas and help you come up with something perfect.

All projects are carried out with a professional commitment to health and safety, quality and the environment. It actively reviews and promotes its health and safety policy on site and in the workshop to ensure a safe working environment for all involved in the construction process.

They employ the best people, invest heavily in their training and education and they ensure that the highest standards of health and safety are applied throughout their organisation.

“It can be difficult to employ skilled workers as there is a shortage in the country at the moment. I decided a few years back to focus more on taking on apprentices and training them to the standard that I want and I do feel that this has been a bonus for us.”

Over the years the company has evolved with the changing economic climate to provide a tailored service to suit all budgets, Paudie added that the economic downturn did not have a significant impact on the business and he also outlined that overall the company has been expanding as of late.

“We were extremely careful as a company during the downturn but continued to improve our services. We are not just confined to the construction industry and carry out our work across a number of different sectors and that has stood to us over the years. We have grown steadily in recent years, which we attribute to improving our quality, range of services and high quality completion of projects.”

Paudie is already looking to the future and he is in the process of moving the business to a new 19,000sq ft premises in Borrisoleigh, which will enable the company to grow with their clients.

“The workshop I have is small. It has done its job, but we need a bigger premises and this will make a big difference for us. I’ve had to outsource some work which we couldn’t do in our current premises as it was just too small, but we won’t need to do that in the new place, as it will all be completed in house. It’s a slow process, but we will get there eventually.”
