Clonmore Construction Ltd is a family-run business with four generations of building experience. The company’s reputation is based on delivering high-quality new home builds, extensions, restoration and insurance work, grant work and government projects.
Taking its name from the townland in which it is located between Edenderry and Rhode in Co. Offaly, Clonmore Construction provides exceptional construction services primarily to the midlands and Dublin areas. Fully certified and insured, and a member of the National Guild of Master Craftsmen, it was formed in 2006 and is run by brothers Theo and Enda alongside their father, John Foy, while their sister Irene looks after the PR and social media side of things. The company has five direct employees and employs several more on a sub-contract basis.
“We’re fourth-generation builders with the fifth generation, our nephew Dylan, currently completing an apprenticeship in the trade,” Theo proudly states.
“The Clonmore Construction name is synonymous with home building in the midlands and beyond. Our father John, and John’s father and grandfather, had their own construction companies, and we’re the next generation coming along. Building is in our blood.”
Superior workmanship, attention to detail, value-for-money and a commitment to working closely with clients to deliver total satisfaction are the hallmarks of Clonmore Construction. Health & Safety is at the core of the business, and never more so than in this Covid-19 age. From concept to completion, John, Theo, Enda and their team of top-class tradesmen are with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs, and that there are no hidden or extra costs involved. All of their work complies with the highest industry regulations.
Whether your next project is a new build, extension or renovation, Clonmore Construction’s one-stop-shop approach will ensure that both the design and building processes are smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. The Offaly contractor’s reputation for quality construction and ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from architects and satisfied customers.
Committed to making your dream home a reality, Clonmore Construction enjoys an excellent working relationship with sub-contractors and customers alike.
“We sub-contract the electrical, plumbing and carpentry to the same tried and trusted tradesmen,” Theo explains.
“For example, Bermingham & Foy Carpentry – which is run by my brother Sean and Chris Bermingham – look after our first and second fix carpentry. Our sub-contractors never see us stuck.
“By employing highly-skilled people, working closely with our architects and using only the very best building products, we’re able to deliver the highest quality construction to our clients.”
He continues: “Most of our work is secured through word of mouth or referrals. When we finish a job, we more often than not get recommended for another one”.
The family business is currently building new homes in Nurney, Co. Kildare, Rhode, Co. Offaly and Mount Lucas, Co. Offaly. It is also completing an extension and renovation works to a house in Edenderry, Co. Offaly and another renovation job in Blackrock, Dublin. In addition, the company has experience in carrying out fire and flood damage repairs, taking the stress and worry out of the process for its clients.
Furthermore, Clonmore Construction specialises in property maintenance. To this end, Rosebank Apartments in Clondalkin, Dublin 22 is one of its key clients.
“We have completed projects as far away as Kerry and Roscommon, but prefer to work closer to home for obvious reasons. The counties we generally operate in are Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Kildare, Dublin and Laois. One of the more famous people we have worked for is the former Irish rugby international Fergus McFadden. We completed work on his house in Ranelagh and he presented us with a signed jersey afterwards which was a nice touch.”
The cost of building materials has sky-rocketed during the pandemic and this is being acutely felt in the new build sector.
“Material shortages continue to be a huge issue in the industry. Everything has gone up in price which is affecting everyone. Certain materials are still going up. As a result, we’ve had to revisit prices in many cases. To be fair, our clients are all understanding and reasonable. We’ll always give them the best quote we possibly can and pass on any savings there are.”
Passionate about construction, Clonmore Construction would like to take this opportunity to thank their customers, suppliers, sub-contractors and architects for their continued support.
