“We work for fantastic clients such as Pfizer, Novartis, Logitech, Colso Cold Storage, ALS Life Sciences, PepsiCo, Regus, Solar Winds, Thermo Fisher, UCC, Tyndall National Institute, GSK and Mater Private Hospital,” the company’s HVAC manager David McDonnell revealed to Building Ireland. “Those clients highlight the broad range of sectors we work in; pharma, cold storage healthcare and universities and offices for example.”

Based in Little Island the company is under the guidance of directors Michael Barry, Rory Campbell and Kevin Barry. “We provide our services across Ireland and in parts of Europe such as Norway. Business is very busy, and the challenge is to try to keep up with the demand that is out there. We currently employ 20 people with 12 vans on the road. We’re very lucky to have such a great crew, it enables us to continue to meet the demand for our services,” Michael says.
“On the refrigeration side we specialize in lyophilisation and qualified ultra-low temperature rooms like -70C. Our chillers are used for process cooling and cold storage primarily and we have the technical skill certificates and licences in house to work with most refrigerants like HFC’s, HC’s and ammonia systems,” says Seamus Hickey, the Refrigeration Manager.
“Service is a large part of our business, and we have the capacity to service any make of refrigeration, air conditioning or ventilation system,” says Michael.

Service Level Agreements are customised for each client giving peace of mind in knowing that assistance is always at hand with a 24hr call out service.
“On the air conditioning side, we are a Mitsubishi Electric Business Solutions Partner and a Daikin Premium Partner meaning our customers get 7yrs manufacturer’s warranty with our installations. We’ve always worked with chillers for HVAC cooling but the increase in commercial heat pump enquires confirms that the heating market is moving away from traditional gas and oil boilers into electric,” David mentions.
The importance of ventilation in reducing virus transmission such as Covid-19 and improving indoor air quality is clearly on the map for more people than ever and has resulted in a sharp increase in demand for the services and products that the long-established BMC Eirco are renowned for providing. “During the pandemic, there has been some anxiety amongst our clients,” David reveals. “There has been a need for professional assistance when it comes to advising clients on what they have to do for ventilation compliance in their respective workplaces.”
