Cathal Glynn Construction Ltd is a family-owned business with a wealth of building experience and a reputation for the highest level of quality construction.
Based in Castletroy, Co. Limerick, the company’s origins can be traced back to 1975 when Cathal Glynn’s father Patrick started the business. Cathal came on board in 1997 and became managing director 10 years later. He employs a top-class team of tradesmen comprising three carpenters, two general operatives, a block-layer, a plasterer and site manager. There are also two employees in administration, including Cathal’s sister Grainne who works part-time.
“I trained as a carpenter before project managing, just as my father had before me. My love for carpentry and construction is down to him,” Cathal says.
Specialising in new builds, extensions, renovations and groundworks, Cathal Glynn Construction has earned an outstanding name in the domestic, commercial and retail sectors. Committed to delivering a high-quality finish in a timely manner, the company utilises experienced tradespeople and proper project management techniques which are proven in the construction industry.
The builder is dedicated to customer satisfaction in all areas, including honest pricing, timelines, attention-to-detail and professionalism. Superior workmanship, value-for-money and a commitment to working closely with clients are the hallmarks of Cathal Glynn Construction. Health & Safety is at the core of the business, and never more so than in this post Covid-19 era. From concept to completion, Cathal and his team are with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs, and that there are no hidden or extra costs involved. All of their work complies with the highest industry regulations.
Whether your next project is a renovation, extension or new build, Cathal Glynn Construction’s one-stop-shop approach will ensure that both the design and building processes are smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. The Limerick contractor’s reputation for quality construction and ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from architects, designers and satisfied customers.
The company enjoys an excellent working relationship with sub-contractors, architects and suppliers. Sub-contractors include Declan Beary Electrical, Michael Ryan Electrical and DC Renewables, while architects / engineers include Alan Collins, Noel Kerley, Tom Hannon and Paul Burke. Tadhg O’Connor, Chadwick’s and McMahon’s are the main suppliers.
“We use the same tried and trusted sub-contractors on nearly every job. By employing highly-skilled and well vetted people, working closely with our architects and using only the very best building products, we’re able to deliver the highest quality construction to our clients,” Cathal explains.
“We provide tailormade solutions to projects by communicating effectively with clients from beginning to end. Our knowledge of the best suppliers, materials and modern technologies allows us to advise and inform on the best build for their needs.
“Our goal is to be the best building company in the Mid-West and to have a 100% referral-based business.”
The new homes Cathal builds are typically between 2,000 sq. ft. and 3,000 sq. ft. in size. Among his current projects are an art deco new build in Castleconnell, a contemporary new build in Lisnagry, a warehouse fitout in Limerick city for a tech company and an art deco house refurbishment in Corofin, Co. Clare. He recently completed a new build bungalow in Charleville, Co. Cork.
“We like a creative-style build. We’re always looking for a challenge and never fail to find solutions,” he continues.
“We take a personalised approach to every project. We’re experienced, cost-effective and always demand the highest standards. We cater for everything from stone and old buildings to contemporary and modern builds. Despite being more expensive to build, bungalows are very popular at the moment as they allow for better layout and eliminate the need for stairs.”
The cost of building materials has sky-rocketed and this is being acutely felt in the new build sector.
“Transparency is key, especially in the current climate where some materials have gone up 300-400% in cost. It’s vital to keep track of changing costs and to keep clients informed accordingly. It’s very important that both the client and the builder are aware of costs, which need to be checked daily.”
Passionate about construction, Cathal would like to take this opportunity to thank his clients, architects and suppliers for their continued support as well as his staff and sub-contractors for their hard work, dedication and expertise.
