“We’re delighted with how the first 15 years have gone. We’re getting busier and the business is growing all the time. We’ve worked hard to build up a good name for ourselves and we want to keep it that way. All of our work is secured through word of mouth and recommendations. For the past three or four years, Pajo Construction has completed renovations on over 200 bedrooms, four restaurants, a leisure centre and 11 apartments to the Corcoran family-owned Castlecourt, Westport Plaza and Westport Coasts Hotels.
“John F lives in Westport and enjoys an excellent working relationship with the Corcoran’s. We’re currently working on a new rooftop restaurant overlooking Clew Bay at the Westport Coast Hotel and are also adding on up to 11 new bedrooms to the same hotel,” Padraic explains.
“If there’s ever a problem, we’re just a phone call away. Our clients put their trust in us to do the job right and we always deliver. We advise them as the build progresses and we never cut corners. The new homes Padraic and John F typically build range from 2,000 sq. ft. to 3,000 sq. ft. in size. While most are block built, there is the occasional ICF (insulated concrete formwork) build. They currently have new builds happening in Bekan, Milltown, Ballindine and Hollymount, and are also extending a house in Headford.
Pajo Construction is also renowned for its ability to offer complete customer satisfaction. Mindful that building your dream home is likely to be the biggest investment you will ever make, it is something Padraic and John F place a strong emphasis on.
The cost of building materials sky-rocketed in 2021 and ‘22 and this was acutely felt in the residential sector. While prices have stabilised somewhat, they continue to be considerably higher than they were before the pandemic and war in Ukraine. However, Pajo Construction’s labour costs remained the same.
