Since its inception in 2006, Maor Scaffolding has earned a stellar reputation as one of Ireland’s premier scaffolding contractors, consistently delivering professional, value-added, specialist expertise to a wide range of projects for a who’s who of clients. Managing director Joe O’Riordan provides Building Ireland with an insight into the continued success of this industry-leading operation.
Now in its 18th year of existence, Maor Scaffolding Ltd. continues to set the standards as Ireland’s foremost scaffolding contractor. Since Joe O’Riordan and Thomas Magan established the company in June, 2006, Maor Scaffolding has made an invaluable contribution to the construction and upgrading of many of Ireland’s most iconic sites.
Invariably providing exceptional products, personnel and service levels to every project undertaken, Maor Scaffolding continues to thrive through repeat business and positive word of mouth. Today, they are busier than ever, with bespoke, high-quality, ultra-safe and -efficient scaffolding systems erected on major building projects all over the city and beyond.
This has been a resounding success story thus far and MD Joe O’Riordan intends to keep things that way: “We are really busy thankfully, with a lot of very good contacts built up in the industry over the years,” he confirms. “We’ve also assembled a really good crew and they are instrumental in the success of Maor Scaffolding. While we are in a very good place right now, there’s no room for complacency, however. You have to keep your standards up all the time because there’s no truer phrase in construction than ‘you are only as good as your last job’.”
From commercial to historical, industrial to residential, every Maor Scaffolding project is delivered safely, professionally and on time. The magnificent Maor team has erected scaffolding on a wide range of sites throughout Leinster, including the most awkward and challenging projects, be it factories, castles, housing estates, apartment blocks, pharmaceutical complexes, data centres or any other building type.
Over the years, Maor Scaffolding have had the distinction of working on many of Ireland’s best known and most instantly recognisable buildings, including the Aviva Stadium, The Central Criminal Court, the new Guinness brew house at St. James’ Gate, the GPO, the Mater Hospital and Dublin Airport to mention just a handful. Clients read like a literal who’s who of Ireland’s Tier One contractors, including but by no means limited to industry giants such as John Sisk & Son, PJ Hegarty, Collen Construction, John Paul Construction and many others besides.
With no job ever deemed too large or too small, Maor Scaffolding are fully equipped to meet all scaffolding requirements in any environment. Their trusted, qualified scaffold erectors have amassed comprehensive experience and training in scaffolding and safety. Staff are regularly re-trained and upskilled to ensure that their scaffolding skills are kept as sharp as possible. Furthermore, Maor Scaffolding always use their own vehicles to transport materials, ensuring that scaffolding is erected, dismantled and removed efficiently and professionally.
Dedicated to high-quality workmanship, excellent safety standards and prompt service, they recognise that no two scaffolding projects are the same. Extensive experience, knowledge and training allows them to adapt their scaffolding to best suit the needs of each individual project. A fully bespoke, tailor-made, client-focused service ensures that best-in-class scaffolding solutions are consistently delivered to the most exacting standards.
“We’ve consolidated over the past few years and currently employ direct staff of 160 as well as generating work for another 30 subcontractors,” Joe notes, before elaborating on some recent additions to the increasingly-impressive portfolio. “We’ve been on Cooper’s Cross for the past two years and have just completed Cherrywood and 60 Dawson Street. We’re full time on site at Pfizer in Newbridge and also work with other pharma companies including Alexion, Boston Scientific and West Pharma. We’re also working on a number of ongoing data centre projects and are regularly on site with Diageo.
“As for some newer projects, you are talking 2-4 Wilton Park, Boston Sidings in Grand Canal Dock for Collen, Belmayne Apartments for Sisk, North Wall Quay for Structure Tone and East Road apartment blocks for Bennetts.”
From humble beginnings in County Kildare just over 17 year ago, Maor Scaffolding – which strategically relocated its HQ to Kingswood Cross, Clondalkin eight years ago – has come a long, long way in a relatively short space of time and due to an immaculate track record is now rightly regarded as one of the leading scaffolding contractors on the island.
Industry-leading expertise, unrivalled customer service and continuous investment in the best scaffolding systems (Layher Scaffold, Kwikstage Scaffold, and tube and fitting scaffolding solutions) and personnel combine to ensure that Maor Scaffolding are always on top of their game.
“It all comes back to quality workmanship and constantly implementing the highest safety standards,” Joe concludes. “As with quality, we place a major emphasis on safety and have appointed specialist personnel to make sure we are always implementing the best possible safety and quality management systems. We are fully committed to maintaining the highest standards across every aspect of the company so that we can continue to deliver total client satisfaction on every project.”
It has certainly proven to be a winning formula so far!
