Bretland has announced the promotion of John O’Connell to Construction Director. John joined the company in January 2024 as Senior Contracts Manager and has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and commitment.
Starting his career as an Engineer, John has steadily progressed through the ranks to Construction Director, bringing years of site and management experience to his new role. Reflecting on his promotion, he said: “It’s one thing to take on a role and another to bring value to it.”
In his new role, John will focus on supporting staff, driving business development, expanding the team, integrating new talent, and strengthening client relationships. While he will miss some aspects of hands-on project work, the opportunity to contribute company-wide and help shape Bretland’s future excites him.
Looking ahead, John’s long-term goal is to continue building a strong team, expand the client portfolio, and ensure every project reflects Bretland’s reputation for delivering high-quality work, on time and on budget.
