Formed in 2013, BuildR’s original focus was on the private housing sector, but their experience led them into other areas such as retail and commercial developments.
Over the course of the past six years, the company have completed a large number of projects to a high standard, which has earned them a reputation for providing quality work on time and under budget.
In order to achieve this, the company have put together a loyal and efficient workforce comprising of highly skilled and committed managers and a pool of the very highest calibre professional subcontractors in all trades and disciplines.
Company Director Justin McCarthy spoke to Building Ireland about the success of the business over the last few years and his hopes for the future.
To meet their own high expectations, Justin revealed that only tried and trusted sub-contractors carry out work under the BuildR name.
“We would use sub-contractors that we have come to know over the years and know that they are going to produce a high standard of work that will reflect in what we expect from them,” said Justin.
“The likes of TK Electrical, Keegan Timber Frame, SK Plant Hire, Trevor Mulligan Plastering and Taranto Piling, Midland Heating and Plumbing, Gary Nelsons Decorating, would be just some of the sub-contractors that are with us on a regular basis.
“We carry out work in the residential, commercial, demolition and fit-out sectors. The company would have been involved in many landlord fitouts in the last few years and we have become specialists in this area.”
Justin worked his way up through the family business starting off as a labourer on Supermac’s in Navan, Co Meath and he feels that by coming up through that route helps him have a better understanding of the industry.
“My father who is a director of the company ran JMJ Contractors Ltd for many years, so I have always been involved in the construction industry. I would have worked my way up from the bottom and through this I would have a greater knowledge of the industry as a whole.”
Carrying on the fine tradition from its predecessor, BuildR has developed the knowledge to be able to move with the times and embrace the latest technology to help reach the highest standards on each of their projects.
“We would be involved in constant re-training and research in order to meet the demands and desires of our clients. We pride ourselves on our ability to construct any project that is required, no matter how complex.”
One of the secrets to their success is ensuring customer satisfaction each and every time they are involved on a project.
“The majority of our clients would be repeat customers and I think this is a good reflection for us as we must be doing something right.”
Some of the projects and clients that BuildR have been involved in recent years include Dealz store in Mullingar, Navan Town Centre & Swords, TK Maxx Mullingar, Costa Coffee Mullingar, Hugh Lynch’s bar extension and restoration in Tullamore, Restoration works and extension on South Circular Road, Restoration and extension Grand Canal Street. “The whole experience completely exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend BuildR.” – Lindsey Roberts, Forrester Roberts
“Navan Town Centre have availed of the services of BuildR on a number of projects since their establishment in 2013.
“The first and most important quality is their dedication to a standard of excellence and their ability to adhere to programme. In our case, the refurbishment of two large multi storey carparks was a real challenge. What was particularly challenging was the fact that all the work had to be carried out whilst the carparks continued to serve our customers. With little exception BuildR co-ordinated these projects with extreme awareness and knowledge of the demands of the public and proved their capabilities.
“We have no hesitation in recommending BuildR as project managers for all building maintenance needs.” – Pat Mullanny, Manager , Navan Town Centre
