CCSR Construction: building dreams for 30 years and counting

6 Nov , 2023

Since its inception in Navan, County Meath in 1993, CCSR Construction has established itself as an industry-leading building contacting company, delivering a wide range of high-quality projects to exceed client expectations across the Royal County and the wider North East region. Building Ireland sat down with founder Sean Reilly to trace the remarkable success of this exemplary family-run business.

Every building project completed by CCSR Construction carries the stamp of excellence. From meticulous, painstaking conservation and restoration work to stunning new builds and extensions, this highly-regarded family business – fronted by Sean Reilly alongside his sons Ciaran and Cathal – has delivered a vast array of wonderful residential and commercial projects across County Meath and the North East.

The CCSR team have the experience, expertise, manpower and machinery to look after every aspect of each project, from groundworks to the handing over of keys, and their proven track record for excellence means they benefit from a steady volume of repeat business from satisfied customers as well as consistently picking up new business through positive referrals.

“We’d be very well known at this stage and it’s nice to have such a good reputation,” confirms Sean, who has worked in construction all his adult life and set the company up initially as Commons Road Roofing three decades ago. “Before getting into general construction, I was at roofing for 20 or 30 years and roofed houses all over the country.

“We have a very strong team of direct employees and a core of dependable subcontractors and we can cover all kinds of work. You have to keep your standards high all the time in construction as it’s the quality of your completed projects that keeps you in work. Thankfully, we have plenty to keep us going at the moment.

“The company is a three-way partnership between myself and Ciaran and Cathal. Ciaran is running the show now. He’s the one who deals with clients and talks to architects. I’m 70 but I still enjoy being involved and I’m happy to be out on site. It’s very much a family business providing a personal touch. My eldest girl Louise looks after the books.

“The two lads know their stuff and it’s great that the business is in good hands going forward. They both spent time in Australia and New Zealand and that experience served them well.”

CCSR Construction was established twelve years ago and has been a limited company since 2018. Synonymous with impeccable workmanship, the Reillys have successfully completed a broad portfolio of projects across a range of different sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, hospitality and conservation. Their key emphasis is always on quality of build, Health & Safety and achieving absolute customer satisfaction.

The CCSR Construction ethos is that clients come first. Thus, they always strive to deliver high quality projects on time and within budget. The team at CCSR are forward thinking and innovative, dedicating a great deal of time to both planning projects and invariably delivering a high-end finish.

Superior quality workmanship shines through on every project. All employees and subcontractors adhere to the most exacting standards that CCSR stringently insist upon and their uncanny attention to even the finest detail is non-negotiable.

At the time of writing, Ciaran, Cathal, Sean and the team were working on two new build houses locally in the Bective area of Navan as well as a large extension to a family home in Dunboyne. They have also been the building contractor of choice for Noel Moran at nearby Bective Stud for many years, during which time they have completed much conservation work, including constructing the spectacular Bective Stud Tea Rooms and Apartments.

Noel is in the process of embarking on a new project at beautiful Bective Stud, which will comprise a hotel above the coffee dock and stables. The hotel will be built across different phases and will provide 120 rooms when finished. CCSR have commenced work on the initial conservation / restoration aspect of the old listed building and courtyard – which will take up to 15 months alone.

Bective Stud has been a very important, loyal customer to CCSR Construction in recent times and the high quality of workmanship consistently delivered at this historic, landmark site speaks for itself.

“It’s great to have that work so close to home. We’ve done a lot at Bective Stud and we have seven or eight lads in there at the moment plus subbies,” Sean concludes. “Noel and myself go back a long way and he knew he could trust me to provide quality work. We do all our own civils and we needed the machines in there when we first went in. Nobody had lived there in 20 odd years and it had become overgrown – there was barely room to swing a machine, but it’s a top of the range development now and the new work going on will take it to the next level.

“We’ve always looked after every client – on every project, large of small – and that is what we will continue to do going forward.”

CCSR Construction boasts an outstanding history for top-class project delivery and, with the second generation now at the helm, the future looks every bit as bright for this standard-setting family-run contracting firm.
