There are certain projects that can define a business as some are classed more prestigious than others and being involved in One Molesworth Street has certainly enhanced Cobec Engineering’s portfolio.

And echoing neighbouring buildings, Dawson Street‘s airier façade features vertical glass fins, solid bronze and a bronze anodised ‘brise soleil’.
The project involved the construction of a six-storey over 3-basements for mixed-use development. The construction of the building was far from orthodox and as a result Cobec Engineering had to look at a number of innovative ideas to overcome this including using pre-made product to allow for faster installation.
The building had to be commissioned in stages as it came available to the testing team at Cobec Engineering. One Molesworth Street was delivered to the Client and the Design Team’s expectations.
One Molesworth Street meets the highest standards of sustainability and achieves the LEED Platinum accreditation.
The work carried out by Cobec Engineering saw them nominated for a prestigious award at the Irish Construction Excellence Awards held in late March.
Cobec were nominated in the category of Specialist or Specialist Services Contract and although they were not victorious on the night, managing director Leonard Cooper was delighted to be nominated.
“We were delighted to get through to the final few. It was such a prestigious project to be involved in and that showed as it picked up a few awards on the night even in our own category,” said Leonard.
Cobec Engineering are no strangers to awards nights as last year saw them highly commended at the National Electrical Awards for the One Molesworth Project.
“The project is finished over a year now and we have moved on to other work including projects for the IDA, AIB, Irish Life, Dunnes Stores and many more.”
From their headquarters in Mulhuddart, Co Dublin, Cobec Engineering have built a reputation for excellence in their field of expertise which is providing a high standard of mechanical and electrical engineering services to a large customer base.

Lastly, Leonard stressed that health and safety is a key area in the business as they strive to protect the health and well-being of not only their employees but those involved in any of their projects as well.
“Our Mission Statement is – ‘Together we plan, communicate and work safely’ – this is the foundation on which we base all of our projects. We really believe in the importance of health and prosperity in the workplace. That’s why, in conjunction with our Health & Safety department and external specialists, we have put the wellbeing of our employees at the forefront of company policy. This has been rolled out across all departments, in our quest to make Cobec’s workplaces safer and healthier. Late last year we provided Health screening services to our staff and we were delighted with the positive response received from all involved.”
