CPAC Modular Launches Ireland’s Most Advanced Permanent Modular Solution for Third Level Student Accommodation

22 Aug , 2025

CPAC Modular, a trailblazer in modern construction innovation, has announced the launch of its Third Level Student Accommodation Solution—a state-of-the-art, permanent modular offering that redefines how student housing can be delivered in Ireland.

According to a paper published by Student Universal Support Ireland (Susi) last year, figures show that on average there are three applications for every one student bed on campus and this figure does not take into account the Technological University sector. With the demand for student accommodation far exceeding availability, CPAC Modular’s purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) can be delivered much faster than traditional construction projects. CPAC Modular can complete a 250 to 300 bed student accommodation complex within 12 months – a game-changer for universities and colleges facing urgent accommodation shortages across Ireland. Designed to meet the growing demand for fast delivery, high-quality, sustainable student living, CPAC Modular’s purpose-built student accommodation can rise up to 10 storeys, offering a scalable and fully furnished accommodation experience.

Each unit is thoughtfully designed to enhance student wellbeing and academic achievement, offering a fully equipped ensuite bathroom with high-spec fixtures that cater for contemporary living. The interiors feature smart, space-efficient built-in storage solutions, including integrated wardrobes and shelving. An integrated wall-mounted monitor provides an ideal setup for both entertainment and study. The dedicated study area includes an ergonomic desk and chair to support focus and comfort. While the construction is modular for speed and efficiency, the finish reflects the quality and durability of traditional builds.

This solution isn’t just fast—it’s greener. Compared to traditional construction, CPAC Modular’s construction process requires significantly less time on site, reducing transportation emissions and disruption to busy college campuses. It also utilises more sustainable materials resulting in a lower environmental impact and generates less construction waste through its LEAN processes, supporting circular economy principles.

University of Limerick students Molly O’Connor and Sinead Cooke were invited by CPAC Modular to test out the student pod. Molly commented, “I would love to live here.  If this was my student accommodation, I would be thrilled.” Sinead added “I’m really blown away by the accommodation. I loved all the little details.”

“This is more than just a building—it’s a bold step toward smarter, faster, and more sustainable student accommodation,” said Seán Murphy, Managing Director of CPAC Modular. “We’re proud to offer a solution that meets the needs of today’s students while helping institutions achieve their accommodation, environmental and operational goals.”

Gavin Fox, Head of Business Development at CPAC Modular added, “the annual scramble for student accommodation is almost upon us. We would be delighted if this time next  year, there were a number of CPAC Modular purpose-build student accommodation complexes at university campuses around Ireland to help alleviate some of the current accommodation shortages.”
