Since its inception 45 years ago, G.R. White & Son Ltd has grown into a highly respected and experienced electrical contractor business with its headquarters located in Tempo, Co Fermanagh.
Covering the U.K, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland the family-run company are well positioned and equipped to provide all types of industrial, commercial and domestic electrical services, possessing a strong track record completing a diverse range of education, health, utility and public sector contracts.
Founded in 1972 by George White, G.R. White & Son Ltd has continued to grow from strength to strength and currently employs 50 people. George is joined by his wife Cynthia and son Rodney (Operations Director).
Rachel has been part of the team for almost five years now and was good enough to take time from a busy schedule to give Building Ireland the lowdown on the business.
“We’re on Main Street in Tempo and the company celebrates 45 years this year,” explained Rachel.
During its 45 years, the company has established itself alongside many of the major organisations throughout Northern Ireland and the experience has allowed them to ensure that they provide the best possible quality and are fully committed to providing a high quality service on all its projects.
Such continued commitment is embedded in the excellent Quality Assurance procedures as set out by ISO 9001:2008 and reinforced to all staff by Operations Director, Rodney White.

Their clients aren’t only littered throughout the whole of Northern Ireland but also the Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland and England.

“We’re very busy at the moment and we have a lot of different contracts on,” she said.
“Thankfully, we kept steady throughout the downturn and settled in to the point now where there has been a steady increase in business. We just completed a state of the art Northern Ireland Ambulance Centre in Enniskillen and are currently working on a highly spec’d All State Insurance fit out in Strabane.”

G.R. White & Son Ltd’s test engineers have both the qualifications and experience to conduct testing within the commercial, industrial, public and domestic sectors and they use the most up-to-date technology, software and reporting techniques to provide the highest possible cost-effective service. Large Testing & Inspection contracts are currently being completed with Lakeland Dairies, NIE Networks and Severfield Rowan PLC to name a few.
Their electrical testing and inspection services also include Emergency lighting test and inspections and Electrical portable appliance testing.

“Our team of NICEIC electricians are committed to quality workmanship at all levels,” said Rachel.
“We have good work ethos here and have a 24-hour call out service for our customers too. We currently have 40 vans on the road.”

Over the last 45 years they have steadily grown and, as a result, have worked in partnership with Graham Construction, McLaughlin & Harvey on projects of various sizes in both Northern Ireland and Mainland UK.
