Approaching 20 years in business, Emmet Cronin Construction in Cloyne, Co. Cork has earned a stellar reputation for high-quality work.
Specialising in new builds, extensions and renovations, the company was established in 2007 by Emmet Cronin and continues to go from strength to strength. A carpenter by trade, Emmet initially ran a carpentry business which evolved into the successful general contracting firm he has today. His father Denis, who sadly passed away on December 27 last, worked in construction before him and also made agricultural products such as cattle trailers and handling equipment, while his brothers Cathal and Killian also have trades.
“It’s in the blood,” Emmet proudly states.
“I served my time as a carpenter before starting my own carpentry business when I was around 20 or 21. That led me into extensions, renovations and full builds as well as fitouts of modular homes and offices for Steeltech in the Cork area. Steeltech are a leading manufacturer of insulated steel sheds and modular systems who we continue to work on behalf of.
“Most of our projects are within a 20-mile radius of Cloyne which is a small town located near Midleton in east Cork. It’s probably best-known for producing famous Cork hurlers such as Christy Ring, Diarmuid ‘The Rock’ O’Sullivan and Donal Óg Cusack. We look after most of the build ourselves, including the carpentry, roofing and groundworks.
“We strive to deliver top quality workmanship with projects completed on time and within budget.”
Superior workmanship, attention to detail, value-for-money and a commitment to working closely with clients to deliver total satisfaction are the hallmarks of Emmet Cronin Construction. From concept to completion, Emmet and his small but dedicated team are with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs, and that there are no hidden or extra costs involved.
Whether your next project is a new build, extension, renovation or fitout, Emmet Cronin Construction’s one-stop shop approach will ensure that both the design and building processes are smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. The east Cork company’s reputation for quality construction and ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from design teams and scores of satisfied clients.
By employing highly-skilled tradespeople, working closely with its engineers and architects, and using only the very best building products, this fully insured and qualified contractor is able to deliver the highest quality construction to its clients.
Emmet is joined by two long-serving employees in Brendan O’Brien and Paul Cahill. “Brendan has been with me for 22 years and Paul has been with me for 10 years. While both of them are qualified carpenters, they can turn their hand to anything. They’re two great lads who I’d be lost without,” he says.
The trio are supported and supplemented by the same tried and trusted subcontractors, including Emmet’s aforementioned brothers Cathal and Killian, who run Cronin Electrical and Cronin Plumbing respectively. Dave Hill is Emmet’s regular block-layer, while his cousin Patrick Lynch looks after the plastering. Chadwicks in Midleton and Roadstone are his main suppliers, while he also enjoys an excellent working relationship with Ian O’Flynn of Harrington O’Flynn Consulting Engineers and Liam Cotter & Associates.
Emmet Cronin Construction provides a specialised service to clients who want to construct a new home or alter, increase or improve the space they live in. The Cloyne-based contractor has completed many new one-off builds across the region and specialises in bringing unique character to your home.
Emmet Cronin Construction is currently completing a new 3,000 sq. ft. block-built home wrapped in timber clad in Cloyne and will shortly commence a €6 million development of 10 new homes in Spital, Cloyne called Lus An Ime. The development will consist of six three-bedroom semi-detached and four four-bedroom detached homes.
“We’re the main contractors on the project for Kenneally Developments in Ladysbridge, Cork,” the affable 49-year-old explains.
“The architects are Engenuiti in Macroom and Lane Purcell Archaeology in Togher are the consultants. It’s one of our biggest projects to date which is right on our doorstep and we’re delighted to be associated with it.”
Emmet is grateful for the support he receives from his wife Annette, son Tom and daughters Martha and Julie. Tom, who is 18, has always shown a keen interest in the business and Emmet is hopeful he will follow in his footsteps.
Passionate about construction, Emmet would like to take this opportunity to thank his clients, suppliers and designers for their continued support as well as his staff and subcontractors for their hard work, dedication and expertise.
