At the forefront of sustainable building services, Geaney Engineering Consultants has experienced significant growth and is proud to be finalist in the prestigious Consultancy of the Year category at the upcoming 2024 Irish Construction Industry (ICI) Awards.
Established as a building services consultancy by Jerry Geaney, the Waterford based practice has been delivering engineering projects to the domestic, commercial, industrial and public sectors for over 30 years. In 2018, the company – under the leadership of Cian Geaney – changed structure to incorporate additional sectors. Since then, the business has tripled in size and continues to go from strength to strength as a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with a focus on building services and energy management.
“Both our building services and energy sector expertise has fuelled significant growth over the last number of years and we’re aiming to double our workforce in the next five years,” Cian says.
“Our growth has also been driven by the fact that we are now serving a wider range of sectors, including residential, educational, healthcare, pharmaceutical, commercial and industrial, and have had success on larger scale frameworks. We’re delivering energy feasibility studies and investment grade audits, which has led to wider Building Services design opportunities with heavy energy consumers, meaning we’re not not solely focused on M&E.”
The affable managing director adds: “We are committed to continuing our growth strategy through enhancing quality and expanding our resources. We are a forward-thinking company with an impressive track record. We’re constantly exploring new technologies and models to improve efficiency and design parameters for our clients.”
The Irish Construction Industry (ICI) Awards recognise, encourage and celebrate original and innovative contractors, businesses, teams, consultants and projects that demonstrate excellence in the built environment.
The nomination for Geaney Engineering Consultants comes just two years after they won the Waterford Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award.
“It’s our first time to be shortlisted for the Awards, so we’re delighted,” Cian says ahead of the black-tie event at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre on Thursday, November 7.
“It’s great recognition for our people. It’s a real team effort between our mechanical, electrical and energy engineers, CAD technicians, BIM design and admin staff. We wouldn’t be where we are today without their expertise, hard work and dedication. They take huge pride in their work and always deliver for our clients, which is the most important thing.”
Also operating from offices in Dublin and Cork, Geaney Engineering Consultants delivers leading edge solutions thanks to some of the most talented and experienced mechanical, electrical and energy engineers.
