Evara, the country’s largest private homebuilder, has received a grant of planning permission from South Dublin County Council (SDCC) for a major new 877-housing and apartment development in Adamstown in Dublin.
The Adamstown Boulevard Phase 2 development is part of the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone.
The project includes a total of 877 new housing units, a new central urban square, landscaped courtyards and pocket parks. The homes will be built across nine buildings, ranging in height from three to nine storeys and include a mix of apartment and duplex units. They include 45 studio apartments, 388 one-bedroom apartments, 403 two-bedroom apartments and 41 three-bedroom apartments.
The project adds significantly to Evara’s existing developments in Adamstown which includes Adamstown Town Centre, The Crossings retail hub and Boulevard Phase 1.
Adamstown Boulevard Phase 2 is a continuation of Evara’s existing Phase 1 development, which comprises primarily of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses and is nearing completion with the new homes being marketed as Redford.
The proposal also focuses on improving local connectivity, with strong pedestrian links and green park walkways to Adamstown Train Station, which is set to benefit from the forthcoming DART+ South West service.
The development reflects Evara’s commitment to deliver sustainable, well-designed communities with high-quality public spaces and integrated amenities.
Evara is the largest privately owned homebuilder in the country with an extensive landbank in the Adamstown, Portmarnock, Clonburris and Cherrywood areas of Dublin as well as newly acquired sites at Citywest and Kilternan. Backed by global investment firm TPG, Evara is investing €2 billion to deliver more than 7,000 new homes over the next five years.
The company has delivered more than 3,000 homes to date in the Greater Dublin Area and is targeting a new annual output of 1,500 homes.
Evara has already developed about 2,200 homes in Adamstown and has the capacity to develop a further 2,900. It is currently delivering 1,600 units in the immediate area and is progressing further planning applications for additional homes, community infrastructure, extra retail, commercial and childcare facilities
With the support of TPG, the company is seeking to increase the pace of delivery and complete the development of its land in Adamstown by 2028. This will include the completion of associated infrastructure and amenities.
As part of its investment in Adamstown, Evara has developed a new town centre and social, community and retail hub. The Town Centre features a mix of shops, over 900 apartments, a public plaza and an urban park serving a wider population of 30,000. A further phase is planned which will incorporate a library/civic enterprise building, further retail facilities, and a large childcare facility.
Michael Hynes, CEO of Evara, said: “This is a significant milestone for the Adamstown SDZ and for Evara. Adamstown Boulevard Phase 2 is our single largest planning permission to date, and ensures we can continue to deliver sustainable homes at scale, building on our mission of creating new and welcoming communities in neighbourhoods where people can afford to live in high-quality developments. We would like to thank South Dublin County Council for their input into the project and we look forward to continuing to work with them on the delivery of new housing across the Adamstown SDZ”
“Evara recently formed a new strategic partnership with TPG Real Estate and this has allowed us to accelerate our housing delivery and set ourselves a new output target of 1,500 homes a year. We have a track record of delivering carefully designed, well-served neighbourhoods and through projects such as Boulevard Phase 2 we are confident we can continue to play a key role in addressing Ireland’s ongoing housing need.”
