Excellence in electrical work

13 Jun , 2023

Established in 1989, H&F Electrical Contractors Ltd is a leading electrical engineering contractor with a proven track record for high quality installations across the construction spectrum.  Sectors include data centres, manufacturing, healthcare, industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial, Government and technology.

These are exciting times for the Limerick-based contractor which continues to go from strength to strength. H&F Electrical was recently awarded the electrical installation package for the new 96-bed Acute Ward block at University Hospital Limerick (UHL). It follows on from previous Healthcare Sector installation works carried out at University Hospital Limerick, University Hospital Galway, Merlin Park University Hospital, Portiuncula University Hospital and Cork University Hospital.

H&F Electrical is collaborating with main contractor John Sisk & Son on the new UHL block. Construction work commenced in October 2022 and is due for completion in August 2024. Thereafter, the new facility will also have to be equipped and commissioned for use before being put into operation. The project represents a total capital investment of in excess of €90 million. Management at UHL says the project begins to address the shortage of inpatient bed capacity in the UL Hospitals Group and in the Mid-West region. The new 9,800 sq. m. block is being built over the existing Emergency Department and Dialysis Unit. Approximately half of the beds will be new beds for inpatients, while the remainder will be replacement beds, allowing the hospital to close or refurbish some of the more outdated inpatient accommodation on the site.

Employing a top-class team of Electricians, Apprentices, General Operatives, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Estimators, BIM / CAD specialists, Planners, Electrical Engineers and Administration personnel, H&F Electrical Contractors Ltd offer a wealth of experience and expertise in delivering electrical, instrumentation, data network and ancillary electrical systems.
