Based in Ennis, Co Clare, NS Construction specialises in one-off house refurbishment, extensions, fit out and large commercial builds. Building Ireland heard all about the business, which recently marked 15 years as a Limited company, from its Managing Director Quinton Rice.
Since 2011, NS Construction has been steadily growing year on year to the point where it’s now as busy as ever.
Managing Director Quinton Rice had first went out on his own as a sole trader in 2001 and by the time NS Construction became a Limited company, it had already began to earn a reputation for its work around Clare, Limerick and Galway.
Operating from Ardcarney, Ruan outside the town of Ennis, the company employs a dozen staff on a full-time basis and sees roughly half of its projects fall under the new builds category.
Building Ireland caught up with Quinton Rice to learn all about NS Construction and how its business is thriving at the present time.
“The service that we provide here would see about 50 per cent of our work concentrated on new builds,” explained Quinton.
“After that, it’s restoration work and our long established restoration work is in castles around Clare, Galway and Limerick. We’d also be doing a lot of roof work and addressing stone as well.”
Specialising in one-off house refurbishment, extensions, fit out and large commercial builds, NS Construction’s strength is in its ability to finish all your projects to the highest standards on time and on budget.
The company also has an excellent reputation and informative relationship with its clients.
Now a well-established business coming up on 20 years in the industry, NS Construction has continued to maintain a very high quality standard of work throughout all of its projects.
That same high standard of work was something Quinton set out when he first set up shop back in 2001, having come from a brick laying background.
“I left school at a very young age and served as an apprentice brick layer,” he said.
“I eventually went out on my own then and had around 25 to 30 brick layers working for me during the Celtic Tiger years.
“I broke into a bit of development after that and in 2001 I started NS Construction.”
After that new build construction became the focus for Quinton Rice and NS Construction.
The company has the ability to make your dream home become a reality, while also removing the stress that goes with such large projects.
For almost two decades, NS Construction has completed new homes to the highest standards and specifications. Its knowledge and expertise means that they can work in all conditions to finalise projects and meet clients’ budgets and specification.
Whether you are considering building a traditional family home or a stately manor, NS Construction has the wherewithal to meet your requirements.
Since returning back to work from government lockdown on May 18th, business has been booming according to Quinton.
“Business is fantastic at the moment,” he beamed. “Since 2011, it has been basically growing year on year and hopefully things can stay that way going forward.
“The lockdown basically saw a couple of projects for us just shut down overnight but we’re up and running again and it’s all happening now.
“Thankfully, there has been a surge rather than a drop off and it’s all systems go again.”
NS Construction is currently on 14 individual new build projects and there looks to be more down the line too, as Quinton approaches 20 years since he first set-up shop in Ardcarney.
The Clare native’s company has completed numerous home renovations and extensions, completing these projects as efficiently as possible, without delays and causing minimal disturbance to daily family life.
Renovations can vary in size and scale depending on a number of factors, area of current home, size of current home and space available to extend into.
Renovations range from changing one or two rooms in a home to stripping back leaving only the four exterior walls, thus allowing you to make your dream home a reality.
In addition, you might consider extending your current living space and adding that sunroom, new kitchen etc which you always desired.
NS Construction can help you and has the expertise, experience and knowledge to assist you with all aspects of planning and completing your home renovation or extension, ensuring your specific requirements are met and maximum use of space is achieve from the project.
So what has been the secret to success over these past two decades for NS Construction?
According to its owner and founder, building a solid reputation over the years has gone a long way towards its longevity.
“I think a lot of it has come down to word of mouth. That’s been a big thing for us over the years,” Quinton outlined.
“I’m out front leading the company and that stands to us a lot too. We take a very professional approach and construction itself has become a very professional industry.
“It feels like the days of the small local builder are numbered now and that’s all factored in with the approach we’ve taken here.”
As for the months ahead, Quinton has one move on his mind for NS Construction above all else.
“Expansion is definitely what we’re looking at,” he enthused.
“Going forward we’re just looking to deliver our projects on time because, with Covid-19, things stopped very suddenly so it’s really about catching up now and hopefully we can add a few more here.
“We’ve expanded year on year since 2011, so we’ll be looking to keep that trend going.”
