For the past 38 years, Pat McCorley Mechanical Services (Recently re-branded to McCorley Mechanical & Electrical) has been supplying a top class service to their long standing customers.
The Toomebridge, Co Antrim based company has always placed a huge emphasis on customer satisfaction. To achieve this, they focus on quality work by using superior materials and a proficient & experienced workforce.
At Pat McCorley Mechanical Services, they listen carefully to their clients in order to fully understand the brief. They do not have a one-size-fits-all perspective and the firm consistently seeks new and challenging projects which foster strategic design solutions.
Their experienced team handle a variety of project types including residential and commercial work and are involved from the design stage through construction and completion.
Established by Pat McCorley in 1980, this family run business has grown with the times and their customer base includes many of the top building firms throughout Ireland & the UK.
From 1980 to 2016 Pat McCorley Mechanical Services focused solely on Mechanical projects but have now incorporated an Electrical division and now provide an extensive rangs of both mechanical & electrical services.
Pat’s son John has been involved in the day to day running of the business in recent years and he explaines why they brought the electrical side of the business on board two years ago.
“The simple fact is a lot of the work that we undertake in plumbing is electrically related. There are many crossovers, so we decided to set up our own branch of the company which focuses solely on electrical work. “We are now NICEIC accredited allowing us to complete the full spectrum of building services installations.”
The company also pride themselves on seeing projects through, if people are having problems with planning, they don’t give up, they’re very tenacious in that regard. Their services are underpinned by years of experience and an extensive knowledge base. They’ve been involved in a lot of projects over the years which they are very proud of.
At present, McCorley Mechanical & Electrical are busy working on projects in Scotland, Northern Ireland and ROI.
“Yeah, we are certainly busy enough at the moment. We have projects ongoing in all sectors throughout Ireland & the UK.”
John adds that one of the reasons he believes they are kept so busy is thorough knowledge of their clientele.
“A lot of our clients would be architects and consultants in the building industry. We have a core of customers that we do the majority of our work for. We would always be cautious of who we would do work for and that is something that has stood us in good stead down through the years.
“We have worked hard to build our reputation and we have seen the benefits of this particularly in 2016 when we had our biggest turnover ever. Reputation is everything; and I do feel that providing our services as a family run business, it certainly helps when attracting new work.”
For any business to be a success, a reliable work force is necessary and John feels that they are very fortunate in that respect.
“There are 18 employed here, while we would use some sub-contractors as well. The guys whom we have here are very experienced and knowledgeable. Without them, the company would not be able to achieve as highly as we do.”
The work of McCorley M&E has been recognised on a national scale as they were named as the Small/Medium Contractor of the Year at a recent awards ceremony and John admitted that it was great to receive such an accolade.
“It is a great way to get our name out there. The award’s recognise the work we do and it is very encouraging to meet clients onsite & accept congratulations for them.”
Pat, John and the staff have extensive experience in the delivery of all aspects of construction projects ranging from the conceptual pre-planning stage through the planning and detailed design stage to construction, completion and handover stages.
As with all projects it is essential to maintain effective communication and contact throughout the process. It is imperative that cohesive thinking and a practical approach are taken on site. It is for this reason that the team offer a hands on supervision approach to all their projects.
Their objective is to always provide value to clients through obtaining maximum potential for their assets, managing risk and providing sustainable solutions. They provide assistance and advice on specific issues or on a broad range of environmental services, depending on the needs of the client for the particular project.
