This past June saw Riverside Mechanical nominated in the Sub-Contractor of the Year category at the 2018 Irish Construction Industry Awards at the Citywest Hotel. Building Ireland heard more recently from one of the company’s Quality Managers, Helen McManus.
Since setting up in 2005, Riverside Mechanical has proven to be one of the market leaders in their sector in all aspects of Mechanical and Building Services. They specialise specifically in the Installation of HVAC Systems and Building Services and in more recent years, the company has expanded their expertise with electrical, design and build aspects of the business.
The firm is family-owned business with an extensive project portfolio and have gained a reputation for competence, quality and competitiveness, not only by continuous growth but by continuous improvement.
Indeed these past 13 years have seen Riverside Mechanical gain itself a glowing reputation for ensuring excellence and, as Quality Manager Helen McManus explained, their commitment to completing high-quality projects remains resolute.

At present Riverside Mechanical are immersed in several prestigious projects in and around Dublin. The list of project’s the company has undertaken is considerable and involves some of the most recognised professional companies in the country.
Riverside are delighted to be the M&E Design & Build Contractor again with Heron Buckingham Joint Venture (HBJV) on the high profile project National Indoor Arena Phase 2 at the National Sports Campus in Abbotstown, after the successful completion of Phase 1 earlier this year.
The second phase will provide permanent indoor facilities for Ireland’s three leading field sports: Gaelic Games (GAA), Football/Soccer (FAI) and Rugby (IRFU).
The development of Phase Two means that Ireland’s three leading field sports will have access to extensive indoor and outdoor facilities along with the world-class facilities of the Sport Ireland Institute in one location. We look forward to the completion of Phase Two in 2019.
Another notable project at present is Project Trinity Ballsbridge with JJ Rhatigan & Co. This is high end development in Lansdowne Place. Project Trinity consists of a 7 Storey Building with 215 Apartments, the residences are designed, built and finished to the very highest specifications. Together with a purpose-built private Residents’ Suite with cinema, lounge, dining room and gymnasium.
Riverside are also the Mechanical & Electrical Services Contractor for the new National Forensic Mental Health Service (NFMHS) complex, at Portrane in Dublin. The new 130-bed adult forensic hospital, at St. Ita’s Campus in Portrane, will replace the 94-bed Central Mental Hospital complex at Dundrum. This new state-of-the-art hospital, along with all of its associated facilities, will be one of the most modern of its type in Europe.

With such prestigious projects in their portfolio, it’s no wonder why Riverside Mechanical was shortlisted for Sub-Contractor of The Year at the Irish Construction Industry Awards this year.
Helen outlined that the nomination alone was an honour, having beaten off opposition from 55 other firms to be there on the night. “We were delighted to be part of the teams that won the Construction Project of the Year & Residential Project of the Year – Block 3 Charlemont Regeneration and Retail Project of the Year – Audi South”
