We touched base with eponymous founder / MD Frank Roche to get an update on this industry-leading operation.

FR Services has been an approved dealer partner with daikin and approved accredited installers with Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioning Systems since their inception and are also approved suppliers/dealers/installers of Mitsubishi Heavy Industry Air Conditioning, Carrier, LG, Toshiba, Hitachi and Samsung brands whose products include ceiling concealed ducted units, suspended units, air curtains, jet towel dryers, high velocity units, ceiling cassettes and wall-mounted units.
Fully qualified and accredited engineers offer full mechanical packages – including design of HVAC, plumbing and BMS control systems. Frank Roche Services also have on-site project management, performing design, commissioning and client demonstrations – making them the ideal supplier of a full turnkey package.

Frank, who has over 40 years’ experience in the heating, cooling and heat-recovery ventilation industry, is pleased to report that business is brisk at present: “We’re being kept busy. We will go wherever the work is but we try to stay close to home as much as possible,” he notes.
“We’re currently working at FEXCO between Killarney and Killorglin and we’re on-site at Hogs Head Golf Club in Waterville, where we’ve worked on the clubhouse, hotel, cottages and spa over the years. We’ve done The Elysian and we do a lot of work for Summerhill Construction in Cork. Some other recent and ongoing projects include Eli Lily, Limerick UL Hospital Fractures Unit, Clonakilty Cork Hotel, Dublin Airport, Woodford Business Park in Santry, Sheen Falls Hotel in Kenmare and Dingle Skellig Hotel. Since I started up, I’ve also done a lot of work for Liebherr Container Cranes, installing air-conditioning equipment into the cabs of their cranes.”
Frank Roche Services offer a fully regulated and accredited 24-hour call-out service. If an air-con, heat recovery or close-control system has seen better days or has stopped working completely, they will respond quickly to ensure downtime is kept to an absolute minimum. A separate company, FRS Maintenance, was set up two years ago to specifically carry out the maintenance and servicing of equipment.
For complete peace of mind, they carry all necessary insurance from design to handover. This includes professional indemnity, employers liability, public liability, product liability and contractor’s all-risk cover. Frank Roche Services only employ fully-certified engineers and, as they are an FGR-accredited and EPA-approved company, clients can rest assured that they are receiving unbeatable solutions from a trusted and regulated professional.
All employees have completed the Solas / FAS Health & Safety Awareness Training Programme and have received training in scissors lifts, boom lifts, scaffold erection, angle grinders and other relevant power tools.
As a family-run business, Frank Roche Services provides a personal touch at all times. Frank is joined in the business by his daughter Katie (Service and Maintenance Manager), brother Patrick and sons-in-law Michael Curtin and Gavin O’Keeffe. Sales Manager Noel Finnegan is another key member of staff. Currently, direct employment is generated for a team of 27, with 16 service vans on the road around the clock, all updated with the latest Velocity fleet management systems, in keeping with Frank’s ongoing policy of continuously investing in the business to provide the most modern, efficient and professional services.
The fact that Frank Roche Services holds two key dealerships in Mitsubishi and Daikin, and can offer seven-year warranties on all air-conditioning installations, gives them a decided advantage over the competition.
“We take great pride in what we do and we don’t cut corners,” Frank concludes. “We offer full turnkey packages, covering all the disciplines from design to installation to handover and we then maintain all the equipment.
“We tell the client straight out what we will do and what we won’t do. We give a quality service and value for money and, as we install a wide range of equipment from Mitsubishi and Daikin to Samsung, LG, Toshiba, etc., we can provide the best bespoke solution for each individual project depending on what the client’s budget and requirements are. We assign a Project Manager to each job and we control the entire project in-house with no subcontractors involved.”
