Icon Group – your all-in-one construction solution

12 Jan , 2024

Consisting of Icon Construction and Icon Resin, Icon Group is a leading building and resin specialist based in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. Founder and managing director Paul Corrigan explains more.

Icon Group started out in 2017 as Icon Construction, with expertise in renovations and extensions, before expanding to include Icon Resin two years later. Offering specialist resin products for commercial and residential clients, Icon Resin has grown rapidly and now accounts for about 50% of overall turnover.

Paul is joined in the successful family-run business by his brother Gary, wife Shirley and a small, but dedicated crew of direct employees who are supported by the same tried and trusted subcontractors. Furthermore, Icon Group enjoys an excellent working relationship with Anca Architects to deliver a turnkey design and build process.

Paul is a well-known building professional with many years’ experience across a variety of projects. He prides himself on delivering high quality work and exceeding customer expectations. Outstanding workmanship, attention to detail, value-for-money and a commitment to working closely with clients to deliver total satisfaction are the hallmarks of Icon Group. The needs of the clients are always at the core of business planning. The Icon team believe in aftercare and are at the end of the phone should a problem arise.

Above all, Icon Group is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for its employees, subcontractors and clients. This commitment extends to ensuring its operations do not place members of the public at risk of injury, illness or property damage. From concept to completion, Paul and his team are with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs, and that there are no hidden or extra costs involved.

Whether your next project is an extension, refurbishment, new build or conversion, Icon Group’s one-stop shop approach will ensure that both the design and build processes are smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. The Enniscorthy contractor’s reputation for quality construction and ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from satisfied clients.

“We like to do things right in the first instance, and always put the customer first,” Paul says.

“We’ve a good name across Co. Wexford in the residential and commercial sectors. We are primarily involved in renovations and extensions, and are currently converting the old Credit Union in Gorey into offices and meeting rooms for Gorey Family Resource Centre. We’ve also recently carried out extensive renovation and extension work to a holiday home in St Helen’s Bay Golf Resort near Rosslare, and converted stables in Ballyedmond into a house for a family. This is just some of Icon Construction’s recent and ongoing work.

“Most of our work is secured through word of mouth or recommendations from the architects we work with.”

He continues: “In 2019, we became installers of resin bound driveways. I had seen resin surfacing at a hotel my wife and I stayed at in Cork and felt there was an opening for it. So I went off and trained in it and haven’t looked back since. Instead of installing and fitting resin, we now concentrate on the distribution of materials and tools and provide a range of courses in varying applications. That side of it has really taken off.”

Icon Resin are the Irish distributors for products from The Resin Mill UK, Jofa Resins UK, Sindec Resin, Infinity Coatings, Resin Bull UK and many more. The company has built up a network of installers in every county across Ireland who use Icon Resin’s products to achieve your desired finish. Resin bound driveways, patios and internal stone carpets are becoming increasingly popular in Ireland, adding a distinctive and exclusive touch to your house, business or commercial premises.

Whether you prefer a classic, contemporary or rustic look, Resin bound driveways can be tailored to your taste. They are colour stable, UV resistant, permeable and SUDS compliant, slip resistant, weed resistant, frost resistant and easy to clean and maintain. Resin bound driveways also have a long lifespan, come with unlimited design options and have a smooth, flat and hard wearing surface.

“While resin is a bit more expensive than tarmac, it has many more advantages. The driveways are easy to clean and maintain, just a quick wash and they’ll look as good as new,” Paul points out.

Icon Resin has become a one-stop-shop to those installing or setting up in the resin bound industry. As well as running market-leading resin bound training courses, it supplies a wide range of products, including EPDM rubber granules and mulch, industrial and decorative epoxy resins, flake flooring, internal stone carpets, spray granite, primers and topcoats for all applications, resin bonded kits, resin bound blend kits, tools, machinery and accessories. Most of the products can be viewed and purchased on www.iconresin.shop but if you can’t see what you’re looking for, simply contact the sales team and they will come up with a solution for you.

“We also run courses in spray granite – which we launched at last year’s National Ploughing Championships – resin bound, decorative epoxy floors and countertops, and much more. If you are looking to start in the industry or are already a contractor laying surfacing materials who wants to upskill, we have the course for you.”

As Icon Group continues to go from strength to strength, Paul would like to take this opportunity to thank his clients and suppliers for their support as well as his staff and subcontractors for their hard work, dedication and skill.
