KSN Project Management (KSNPM), an award-winning project management consultancy, has achieved ISO 14001 certification for environmental management systems.
ISO 14001:2015 defines the requirements for an organisation’s environmental management system, which it can use to improve its environmental performance. ISO 14001:2015 is intended for use by organisations such as KSNPM that wish to manage their environmental responsibilities in a systematic and sustainable manner. The standard requires that EMS plans be quantifiable and monitored, as well as communicated and updated. The measures must be precise in terms of what is to be accomplished, by whom, and when. Additionally, it must be clear how evaluation and resource allocation will be handled.
“We are making a small but significant contribution to the Irish Government’s broader Climate Action Bill through the EMS commitment for KSNPM. Our EMS enables us to assess our environmental impacts and develop actions and procedures to mitigate them. This will result in decreased electricity consumption, decreased waste generation, and increased recycling, all of which will result in resource and cost savings,” added Brian Cunningham, Associate Director, KSNPM.
Brian continues, “The accreditation process was lengthy and complex, but we had the full backing and support of the directors and the wider KSNPM team to commit to and accomplish our goals, with everyone’s participation being critical to achieving this certification.”
Barry Doyle, Director of KSNPM, adds, “By attaining the ISO certification for our Environmental Management System, KSNPM is putting its commitment to continuous standard improvement to the test.” Additionally, it complements other company-wide commitments, such as those made by KSN and KSN Energy, to advance our sustainability goals and strategy. Environmental stewardship is as critical in the workplace as it is at home and elsewhere, and it is an integral part of our daily management and activities. The office environment is resource-intensive in terms of energy, water, paper, equipment, and other consumables, and reducing consumption benefits everyone.
