As a group, Lagan Homes pride themselves on being modern, innovative, and different.

Building Ireland touched base with Lagan Homes to discuss the phenomenal success of Lagan Homes Ireland thus far – MD Chris Carroll commented: “We continue to strengthen our presence across the UK and Northern Ireland, with our Republic of Ireland operations delivering exceptional growth and momentum. Year on year, we’ve increased our output and continue to strategically expand our land bank, ensuring a strong, sustainable pipeline that underpins our long-term development ambitions.

“Our team has grown to over 45 directly employed professionals, reflecting our commitment to investing in talent. We’ve consistently met and, in many areas, exceeded our performance targets, demonstrating both resilience and focus. With a clear growth trajectory, we’re confident the business is well positioned to build homes of the future and deliver communities of importance and balance.

Last year, three new premium developments were launched in Drogheda, Duleek and Lusk – how did this fare? Vicki Tadros, Head of Sales & Marketing, commented “Hugely successful. Duleek and Lusk are fully sold out and handed over. They were very well received in the marketplace, and we experienced very strong demand. We were just finishing up in Newtown Wood in Drogheda when last we spoke, and those homes have been handed over since the end of 2023 / start of 2024.

“Last year we also started the first phase of a new development in Drogheda, at Gort Mell. Phase One was launched last year and sold and completed. We’ve since launched Phase Two.

“There will be 237 homes in total in that development, and we have completed over 80 to date, with very strong demand. There will be 130 units completed in Gort Mell by the end of this year, additional units have also be forward sold for next year.”

Have there been any further new developments launched in 2025 and, if so, how are these progressing?
“We launched Haley’s Hill in Kinsealy, County Dublin – an exclusive boutique development of 81 homes and six Commercial units that will be coming to the market soon for let, all in a fabulous located just off the Malahide Road. Following a highly successful launch in February, demand for these homes have been exceptionally strong, with only a limited number of three- and four-bedroom houses remaining.
“In early November we launched stylish two- and three-bedroom duplexes and apartments, and these have sold extremely well; currently there is just 1 x 2 bedroom apartment available.  We will launch the final phase of apartments and duplex units in early 2026.”

This exclusive, luxurious development includes just 45 three- and four-bedroom terraced and semi-detached houses as well as a collection of one-, two- and three-bedroom duplexes and six bespoke commercial units. Haley’s Hill offers something for all types of purchasers, suiting a range of requirements and needs. The three- and four-bedroom homes are thoughtfully laid out across two spacious floors and finished to a high specification, ensuring that every home is optimised for both layout and space.

“Ard Na Páirce Theas in Kildare town is a scheme of 166 units,” Vicki continues. “We released the first phase earlier this year and have released all the houses there [Phase One features 3-bedroom, 108sqm terraced and end terrace homes alongside large 136sqm 4-bedroom semi-detached homes]. We currently have the last remaining 4-bedroom semi-detached houses available. A number of homeowners have moved in already and there will be over 90 families living in Ard Na Páirce Theas by the end of the year. All our sites are well resourced and with progress being made across each development.”

Designed by Arthur Gibney & Partners, the apartments, duplexes and houses of varying sizes and price points at Ard Na Páirce Theas reflect modern living trends, optimising space and quality. These homes feature a combination of brick and render finish to the exterior and luxurious, bright, modern fitted kitchens, ample internal storage, utility rooms and elegant and spacious living rooms.

“We have a good pipeline of work ahead of us next year. We’ll continue the next phases of Gort Mell, Haley’s Hill and Ard Na Páirce Theas.  We’re also at the planning stage on another couple of sites, including Ballycullen in South Dublin and Navan.”

Chris concludes: “Our business continues to grow strongly, and we’re now approaching a major milestone — early next year we will hand over our 1000 homes in the Republic of Ireland. This will be a significant achievement for the team and one we’re determined to build on in the years ahead.

“We’re focused on sustainable growth, increasing our annual output year on year, and strengthening our land bank pipeline. Several new sites have been acquired recently, and with dedicated in-house business development, planning, and design teams, we’re well positioned to continue identifying and delivering high-quality developments, even in a challenging land supply environment.

“It’s encouraging to see Minister Brown prioritising an increase in housing supply, aiming for 55,000 homes per year, and urging local authorities to zone more land by the end of this year. This is a crucial step in addressing housing demand across the country. However, there are concerns that some councils may be under-resourced to act at the necessary pace or may consider existing zoned land sufficient to meet the new targets. It is vital that the national momentum is matched locally to ensure a consistent and effective pipeline of housing, supported by appropriate zoning. Meeting these revised housing targets will also require careful planning and delivery of critical infrastructure, meaning there is a substantial amount to be done in the near term.”
