“While the company has only been going since 2019, Mark and I have a wealth of experience in the industry,” Wesley explains.
“Mark is a carpenter by trade and runs two other businesses, MHC Carpentry Contractors Ltd and MHC Construction Recruitment Ltd, trading as TradeHire. I’m a carpenter and electrician, and come from a family of carpenters and builders. My father Patrick Nolan was a carpenter and builder, and his father, also Patrick, was a carpenter too. And not forgetting my brother William, who is a carpenter as well.
“I had two other building firms before this one – Dublina Construction and Brookcreek Developments – so it’s in my blood.”
Despite the challenge posed by the pandemic, Nolan Lloyd Developments has grown quickly to employ 20 people directly and several more on a sub-contract basis.
“We have a brilliant crew of block layers, plasterers, carpenters and groundworks personnel working directly for us, while we sub-contract the electrical, plumbing and roofing to the same tried and trusted tradesmen. We enjoy an excellent working relationship with Nugent Heating & Plumbing, AMR Electrical Services and AD Roofing to name but a few. As a company engaged in many grant-assisted energy efficient and retrofit projects, it’s vital to work with plumbers who are fully insured and certified.

Nolan Lloyd Developments has completed numerous high-end projects in its short existence, primarily in the South Dublin area.
“We have built and renovated homes all over Dublin and even down as far as Greystones in Co. Wicklow, but South Dublin is where most of our work is concentrated. We do a lot of work in the Blackrock and Clonskeagh area. Many of the refurbishment jobs we’ve carried out have been as big as a one-off new build. We currently have projects taking place in Terenure, Dundrum and Rathfarnham.
“One of the best examples of our work from an energy efficient point of view can be found in Landscape Park off Churchtown Road where, following a complete retrofit, the house’s BER Rating went from D to A, which is practically unheard of.
“We stand over every job we do and would always encourage prospective clients to go and view previous projects we’ve done before taking the next step.”
With Covid having led to chronic building material shortages, Nolan Lloyd Developments has made its warehouse facilities available for clients to store and stock up on products they’ve been able to get their hands on.
“We recommend to clients to order their windows, sanitaryware, floors etc in advance of the build which they can store in our warehouse. The facility, which is right beside TJ O’Mahony Builders’ Providers, has been a big help to many,” Wesley adds.
