Making your dream home a reality

4 Jun , 2021

Established in 2017, Ashmore Building Services Ltd has earned an enviable reputation for building beautiful bespoke one-off homes in the Meath area, whilst also specialising in renovations and extensions.

Looking to build your ideal home in the countryside or thinking of extending or renovating? If so, Ashmore Building can turn your dream into a reality.

Based in Kildalkey, Co. Meath and fully certified and insured, this exceptional contractor provides a range of services to clients who want to construct a new home or alter, extend or improve the space they live in. While the company is only three years old, owner Dan Fagan has over 20 years’ experience in the building trade. He is also a certified passive house consultant and is passionate about delivering energy-efficient and cost-optimal buildings that satisfy the occupants’ comfort.

Superior workmanship, attention to detail, value-for-money and a commitment to working closely with clients to deliver total satisfaction are the hallmarks of Ashmore Building. Health & Safety is at the core of the business, and never more so than in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak. From concept to completion, Dan and his team are with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs, and that there are no hidden or extra costs involved.

Whether your next project is a new build, extension or renovation, Ashmore Building’s one-stop shop approach will ensure that both the design and building processes are smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. The Meath contractor’s reputation for quality construction and ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from satisfied clients.

“We’re a small, family-run business that prides ourselves on quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, attention to detail, transparency and accessibility. We’re always accessible and work with the client from concept to completion to provide them with the best possible product and finish,” says Dan, who is a carpenter by trade and whose wife Helen is also a director in the company.

“I have worked in the construction industry for the past 22-23 years. For most of that time, I have owned my own business with a period spent in construction management also. When I set up Ashmore Building in 2017, there was just my brother Michael and I. We’ve since grown to employ 11 staff who are a mix of carpenters, foremen and office personnel.

“We sub-contract the groundworks, plastering, plumbing and electrical to the same tried and trusted tradesmen. By employing highly-skilled people, working closely with leading architects and engineers, and using only the very best building products, we’re able to deliver the highest quality construction to our clients.”

Dan has put together a small, but committed and experienced team to deliver a cohesive approach on all construction-related projects that they take on. “It’s a real team effort,” he stresses.

Having initially focused on extensions and renovations, Dan now builds up to seven bespoke one-off houses a year and is currently working on new builds in Ratoath, Clonmellon and Trim.

“We insist on quality over quantity. It’s not our intention to go down the high-volume route,” he explains.

“Our crew are highly experienced and are not afraid to take on any type of building work. We’ve completed many new one-off builds in the greater Meath area and have three such jobs happening at the moment. We’re building a bungalow in Ratoath which has an open courtyard feature in the middle. Darragh Breathnach from DUA (Design Urbanism Architecture) has a big input in that.

“We’re also building a four-bed detached home in Clonmellon and a passive house in Trim, for which Micah T Jones – who appeared on RTE’s Grand Designs – is the architect. It will be our first passive house pending full certification. I completed my certified passive house consultant course recently and it’s definitely an area we’re interested in getting into more. It’s much more specific than general building.”

Ashmore Building offers great advice and guidance with free consultation at the outset to make sure potential clients know all the possible paths and outcomes available to them before a project begins. The company employs its own quantity surveyor who uses the value engineering method to identify and eliminate unnecessary costs.

“Quite often excessive build costs can be designed out at planning stage, and that’s why we like to be involved pre-design. It also gives us the opportunity to build trust and a relationship with the client,” the affable building contractor continues.

“Our service is professional and transparent from the time contact is first made. All queries are dealt with to ensure nothing festers. We’re always at the end of the phone.”

Rest assured that whatever your project, you’re in safe hands with Ashmore Building’s expert team of builders, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, plasterers and architectural designers. Dan would like to take this opportunity to thank his customers and suppliers for their continued support.
