26 Nov , 2025

Celebrating 20 years in business, Moynalvey Building Services (MBS) Ltd is a leading facilities maintenance provider with an energetic and flexible approach to every job.

Based in Kilcock, Co. Kildare, MBS’s expert facilities maintenance team are available nationwide, 24/7, to attend to your facilities needs promptly and professionally in living and working environments. The company prides itself on its ability to deliver a top-class and value-for-money service. Its engineers, all of whom are long-serving team members, have completed a recognised apprenticeship and are highly-skilled in their area of expertise. They are easily recognisable as they are all issued with MBS workwear, carry company identity cards and drive sign-written transport.

“We provide a comprehensive range of facilities maintenance services with no job being too big or too small,” MBS director John Corcoran says.

“We employ fully-trained and certified engineers who are competent and trustworthy. Our vast and varied experience of 20 years in this business means that you will receive a professional and informed service at all times.

“Business is flying at the moment, but there have been bumps along the way too. We got through the recession and the Covid-19 pandemic and are looking to the future with optimism. We employ a high-calibre team of 20 people and have 15 vans on the road predominantly covering the greater Dublin area. Our workforce includes plumbers, electricians, air conditioning technicians, carpenters, tilers, painters and general operatives who are supported and supplemented by the same tried and tested subcontractors, including Dunfab Engineering and Charles Byrne Roofing along with various locksmiths and controls companies.

“Our admin team consisting of Joe Murphy, Aileen Murphy, Martina Mongey, Clodagh Murphy and Róisín Murphy are also key players in the whole operation. Joe and I worked together in the UK for five years previous to setting up the company together along with Aileen who works tirelessly in the office keeping the wheels turning. And not forgetting my wife Elaine for her continued support.

With MBS, all services requests are dealt with by a multidisciplinary team who provide the convenience and efficiency of a single point of contract for a wide range of services such as building maintenance contracts, office fit-outs, office clear-outs, electrical installation and repair, mechanical installation and repair, air conditioning and refrigeration, building renovation and remedial works, painting, decorating and tiling, roofing and guttering, carpentry and handyman services, ground maintenance and general advice.

The contractor’s electrical, plumbing and facilities services have built a solid and enduring reputation for quality service and workmanship over the past two decades. Its ability to complete projects in a timely fashion and within budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from scores of satisfied clients.

MBS provides services to domestic homes, apartment blocks, office environments, hotels, schools, shops, corporate centres and data centres. It is contracted to undertake planned preventive maintenance and reactive callouts for a large number of corporate clients across the country.

“We work for a lot of blue-chip clients in the digital and tech sectors,” the affable Meath man explains.

“We’ve had a contract with TK Maxx for the past nine years and also carry out a good bit of work for CBRE in Dublin Airport. We can also count the ESB, CityWest, JJL (Jones Lang LaSalle), Canon Ireland, Collegelands Forge in Moynalvey and the Ombudsman for Children among our list of valued clients. Office clear-outs are a growing area for us and we’re currently clearing out offices for the Ombudsman for Children in Dublin to allow for the installation of a new air conditioning system.

“Our repeat business speaks volumes about the strong partnerships we have built with a variety of clients over the years.”

John adds: “Furthermore, we enjoy an excellent working relationship with our suppliers, who include Eastern Electrical, Kellihers Electrical, Barrett’s Plumbing, Smallman’s, Cleary’s of Kilcock, Murdock Builders’ Merchants, Thornton Recycling and CORE Builders’ Providers.”

MBS is also proud to support local community groups such as the Kilcock Business Association, Maynooth Business Association and Moynalvey GFC.

“We partly sponsor the Christmas lights in Kilcock, Maynooth and CityWest every year and are also secondary sponsors of our local GAA club in Moynalvey. McCormack Family Farms is on the front of the jersey and we’re on the back. We’ll be supporting Moynalvey in their quest to win the Meath Intermediate Football Championship this year. They have got five or six players back from Australia and should be there or thereabouts.”

As MBS continues to go from strength to strength, John would like to take this opportunity to thank his clients and suppliers for their unwavering support as well as his direct employees and subcontractors for their hard work, dedication and expertise.

Here’s to the next 20 years!
