Moran Builders offer unrivalled experience

27 Jan , 2021

Experience is a commodity that is vital to success within the construction industry and as they old saying goes, you can’t beat experience.

Well for one construction company based in Goatstown, Co Dublin, they have unrivalled knowledge in their area of expertise as Moran Builders have been supplying a quality service to an ever-increasing customer base for over 50 years now.

The current genesis of the business is run by Kevin Moran and specialising in private home renovations, extensions and new builds, they have gained a reputation for their attention to detail and delivering a quality service on time and on budget.

Kevin spoke to Building Ireland about the services that they provide, while also revealing his thoughts on the state of the industry in Ireland at the moment.

“Private home building would be our speciality, while domestic renovations and conversions would take up a great deal of our workload,” stated Kevin.

When it comes to the different variations of building work, Moran Builders have experience in all including conservation building techniques, Timber frame, steel works, underpinning, groundworks, demolition, solar heating systems and all the traditional trades.

“We tend to stick at what we are good at and that has stood to us over the years. Business is good and we are quite busy. We attract a lot of work in period houses and have a cornered a niche in the market where we feel that the service we provide is up there with the best.”

Moran Builders employ five direct, while Kevin revealed that they use a number of tried and trusted sub-contractors, many of who have been working with the company for years.

“I like to keep things tight, we never got too big and always maintained a small workforce, which we felt stood to us, especially during the difficult times. We have always used sub-contractors and there are a number of guys that we would use all the time. They are excellent at what they do, and they produce high quality work, which our reputation is built on.”

Kevin revealed that the majority of the work is carried out in the greater Dublin area, which allows them to carry out projects on their favourite sector.

“I would admit that working on a period home is something that we love getting involved in. No project is ever the same and there is no great satisfaction in restoring a home that may be run down to its former glory.”

Working closely with the client is something that Kevin and his team have always give a great deal of attention too as he feels that this is the only way for a successful project.

“Communication is key to the success of any project. We would work closely with the client as well as the architects and engineers. It is imperative to have a good line of communication between all the relevant parties, otherwise, the project will not be completed to the highest standard possible.”

Moran Builders are registered with Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (S.E.A.I), so grants are available for various kinds of insulation and dry lining works, and also for fitting highly efficient heating systems.

As a collaborative, flexible construction business delivering a professional, seamless approach to construction projects, they have a strong focus on in-house technical resources that provide innovative solutions for their clients, building strong relationships as a result of their open and honest approach. Their primary focus is safety and quality.

Our highly experienced staff have the know-how to guarantee that our clients are completely satisfied with our service and the end result.  We pride ourselves on delivering your project on time and most importantly, budget. Our aim is simple, we provide a quality, safe and user-friendly service for our clients and to lead the way in the construction sector, based on client recommendations and referrals.

Moran Builders are an award winning company and the team can display an expertise in the specialist requirements, legislation and appropriate construction methods required for working within listed buildings and bring with them the benefit of years of experience to each project. In all listed and historic projects they take great care in working to preserve and restore desirable features with close liaison with the relevant authorities

“Sensitivity is paramount in any work, no matter the size or scale, but particularly with restoration work. Close management and careful selection of all specialist subcontractors is vital in making the project a seamless process from start to finish whilst achieving the highest level of quality required in line with the consent provided.”

Kevin concluded by stressing that their continuous aim was to build long-term relationships based on reliability, performance, value, and client satisfaction.

“We will continue to meet the changing needs of our clients with our quality services delivered by a professional team that have played their part in the success of the business down through the years.”
