These are exciting times for sister companies Moycraft Roofing & Carpentry Ltd and Moycraft Developments Ltd which continue to go from strength to strength.
Moycraft Roofing & Carpentry Ltd was formed in 2015 by Mark Browne. Operating from Fordstown, Navan, the company has established itself as a leading contractor specialising in all aspects of roofing and carpentry, including first and second fixing works from fitting stairs to hanging doors, and everything else in between. Its clients range from residential developers to one-off private dwellings.
Founded in 2019 by Mark Browne and Eddie Dee, Moycraft Developments evolved from Moycraft Roofing & Carpentry. “A site came up for sale in Ballymore Eustace which Eddie and I bought and built four four-bed houses on and sold to Kildare County Council. Eddie is a builder who I had worked with on a few one-off houses and who I struck up an excellent working relationship with,” Mark explains.
“We combined our expertise to build the houses and that’s where it all started for Moycraft Developments.”
Following on from that, Mark and Eddie purchased a larger site at Strettel Avenue in the historic Co. Kildare village of Ballitore in 2021. To date, there have been 30 homes completed and privately sold on the site, with a further 10 currently under construction. When completed, the development will consist of 49 exceptional, high-quality and energy efficient homes which are a mix of two, three and four-bed semi-detached along with three-bed bungalows.
“The houses have been built to a very high standard in phases of seven-eight,” Mark says.
“We’ve sold 30 already through our agent Hugh Morris Alliance in Kells and expect the remaining 19 to sell quickly too. The development has the potential to go to 120-130 units. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.”
Designed with style and energy efficiency in mind, Strettel Avenue is a striking collection of beautiful homes which combine the best aspects of modern living with the type of idyllic rural sanctuary busy lifestyles craves. It is a new development that will also appeal to the traditionalist – a village setting that’s just 15 minutes from large town amenities. These uniquely-designed homes encourage a sense of belonging and community.
You’ll find well-considered design everywhere at Strettel Avenue. From the spacious green areas that give the development its community village feel and private rear gardens to the clever use of space in every home. It is situated in a peaceful village setting with unspoiled countryside views. Features such as sliding sash windows and wet dash finish have been incorporated into each home to reflect Ballitore’s Quaker roots.
This charming village has heritage dating back to the 18th century when it was founded as the only planned Quaker settlement in Ireland. There are several historical buildings of note in the village, including the home of the Leadbeaters where one of the few independent descriptions of the 1798 Rebellion originated and the ‘Meeting House’, dating back to 1708, which was used as a place of meeting and worship for Quakers and now serves as a library. The ‘Meeting House’ sits adjacent to the new development in a village that retains its simplistic modest roots, while embracing the growth of a new modern era.
Furthermore, Strettel Avenue is also exceptionally well-connected to important routes and destinations, with the M9 Motorway providing access to Naas and Carlow town in less than 30 minutes, and Dublin in 45 minutes. Athy Train Station is just a 10-minute drive away.
As well as its own Strettel Avenue site, Moycraft Roofing & Carpentry is currently engaged in a number of other private developments across Dublin, Meath and Louth. These include a 27-unit development in Dargle Demesne, Enniskerry for Dowdstown Developments; a 53-unit project in Shanganagh, Shankill and student accommodation beside DkIT in Dundalk for DGSL; and the 300-unit Johnstown Demesne in Enfield for Westin Homes.
Teamwork is at the heart of Moycraft Roofing & Carpentry’s culture. Mark and his team are committed to delivering total satisfaction on every project with a strong focus on quality workmanship, value-for-money and Health & Safety.
“I have a great team of lads with me,” the affable managing director continues.
“We have grown to employ 18 people directly, three of whom have been there since the beginning. They are supported by the same tried and trusted subcontractors. We insist on top-quality work which leads to us securing a lot of repeat business.
“We have developed strong relationships with our clients over the past nine years. When we go into a site, we cater for every aspect of carpentry. We’re a one-stop shop for all your carpentry and roofing needs. Builders and developers prefer to deal with one person or one point of contact. That’s what has got us to where we are. It makes it easier for everyone.”
As his two businesses continue to grow and prosper, Mark would like to take this opportunity to thank his clients and suppliers for their continued support as well as his top-class team for their hard work, dedication and expertise.
