Two thousand and nineteen saw the company nominated for five awards at the Fit Out Awards as they came away with two awards on the night.
Eimear Ennis picked up the Designer of the Year award and Amelie D’Anjou being award the Young Designer of the Year.
Eimear is the Associate Director at NODA Architects in Dublin, where she has been since its formation in 2010. In those nine years, Eimear has been a critical founding member of a firm that has established itself as one of Ireland’s leading fit-out and design houses. She has worked on many jobs including The Morrison Hotel, The Morgan, The Marriott Haiti, Inchydoney Island Hotel, The Malton to name a few.
Canadian native Amelie joined the NODA team in 2015. While here she has worked on hospitality and workplace projects in Ireland, the UK and the Caribbean. Prior to NODA, Amelie worked on projects in Canada & the US specializing in bar & restaurant design.
Nikki is pleased with the direction of the business and she feels that the current economic climate is well placed to sustain itself this time around.
“The situation is a lot different now compared to the days of the Celtic Tiger. Funding is predominantly private foreign investment, spending is more cautious.
“Of course, with Brexit looming, there is a nervousness in the industry, but from our point of view, I feel that the Hotel sector is well place to continue to grow. Small bedroom hotels have reached our shores and are proving popular in urban areas. Dublin in particular, can sustain the current growth in hotels as we are still underprovided for, in terms of hotel bedroom numbers. It is an exciting time in the industry.”
Nikki is passionate about the work that they do in the hospitality industry.
“20 years later, and I am still amazed by hotels and what can be done in terms of design. Hotels are constantly evolving, and the most successful know and respond to their market. There is no ‘one size fits all’. We enjoy the research and keeping up with the trends, and we bring this knowledge to our clients.”
