North West Aluminium have announced the appointment of Steven Nairn as the new Commercial Project Manager for its brand GutterClad.
Steven’s appointment comes as the company expands its product & service range in the Irish and UK markets. His role will enable North West Aluminium (NWA) to enhance its offering to larger building contractors, roofers and aluminium rainwater installers.
In recent years, the company has grown from being an established aluminium roofing accessory manufacturer in Ireland and the UK to offering a full aluminium rainwater product range for both self-build and commercial projects.
Among the recent Irish projects North West Aluminium has manufactured and installed products on include:
Expanding Family Business
Working closely with their customers to understand their needs, while continuing to develop innovative new products, has resulted in a huge expansion and the hiring of key staff at the family-owned company based in County Donegal.
With consistent, double-digit, sales growth in recent years, North West Aluminium has more than doubled its workforce since 2017 with the company now employing 50 full-time staff across the UK and Ireland.
Recruitment has included in-house quantity surveyors, new product designers and a technical manager, with further field technical representatives on the ground assisting clients with key projects.
Over the past number of years, the company opened a number of new state-of-the-art facilities in north-west Donegal, with a major expansion of the company’s office and manufacturing Headquarters due to be completed later this year, providing an additional 20,000 sq ft, bringing the total factory space to an impressive 65,000 sq ft.
GutterClad
Under the GutterClad brand, NWA designs and manufactures standard aluminium products – including gutters, downpipes, fascia, soffit, window sills, standing seam, capping’s and various bespoke aluminium products. With R & D and new product innovation as a critical driver, the company has committed to further product development for the commercial market in 2021.
Steven Nairn originally joined the company in 2019, having been in the construction sales sector for a number of years. A qualified joiner and project manager, he has over 15 years’ experience and brings extensive knowledge to his new role.
Speaking of his construction experience, Steven said: “Being involved from the start of the project, seeing the drawings and plans, being onsite offering advice and problem solving, and bringing this through to manufacturing, powder coating and ultimately to the installation stage gives me great satisfaction. I have worked on various sites throughout my career, and I will be bringing that experience to the role.”
He added: “Not only are we expanding our range of products, but we are also expanding our installer network across Ireland and the UK. We aim to give new innovative bespoke solutions to our installer network and contractors.”
