Celebrating 10 years in business this year, ProDrive continues to lead the way as a Piling contractor specialising in precast driven, steel tubular, bottom driven mini piles and precast groundbeam systems. Building Ireland found out more from the company’s Operations Manager Joe Donaghey recently.
A decade since its birth and piling contractors ProDrive in Omagh, Co Tyrone is a company which currently finds itself as busy as it has ever been.
As well as being a now well renowned piling contractor, the firm also specialises in precast foundation packages and operates all over Ireland and the UK.
ProDrive is headed up by its founder Damien McCaffrey – a man that has built up many years of experience in his chosen field – and a little over a year and a half ago Joe Donaghey came on board with the business.
Joe was able to take time out of what has become an increasingly busy schedule as of late to tell Building Ireland about what they’ve been up to lately.
“Established in 2007, ProDrives head office and manufacturing facilities are located in Omagh, Co Tyrone which offer a good roads network to access anywhere in the country,” Joe explained.
“At the moment we’ve 25 staff and I’ve been Operations Manager since coming on board 18 months ago. Damien McCaffrey is the company owner and founder.”
The head office is currently situated on the Shanmullagh Road in Omagh with the production facility nestled in the local village of Drumquin. “ProDrive is a piling & foundation specialist contractor that has completed work in all sectors,” Joe stated.

Having started off in the middle of an economic downturn which took such a telling toll on the Irish construction industry, ProDrive has come through strongly to the point where it now looks to be thriving.
By offering its clients a variety of different services, ProDrive has become first choice for companies all across Ireland and in the UK in need of a piling & foundations contractor.

“We aim to keep a fresh and well maintained fleet of plant with one of the most recent piling rigs arriving just over a year old, from Finland” said Joe.
“With regards to lorries, we’ve just purchased a new Volvo from Dennison Commercials along with a transportation loader from Ashbourne Trucks.”
ProDrive pledges attention to detail and a deeper understanding of customers’ needs.
Some recent projects in which the company has completed have saw them travelling over to Glasgow and Swansea, although the most recent one sees ProDrive’s workers operating a bit closer to home.
“We just commenced a job for McAleer & Teague in Ballygawley carrying out the precast piling for a new mushroom and compost production facility for them,” Joe outlined.
“We also recently completed some work in Belfast City Hospital for Graham BAM Health Partnership and a school in Glasgow for Heron Brothers. A Lidl in Swansea for Tinnelly Construction and a housing development in Spalding for Charcon Concrete Solutions were also two projects that we recently finished, so we’ve been kept busy with those and we’ll be quite busy with this one now.”
All things considered, it’s not hard to understand why they’re clients continue to come to them first for all of their piling and foundation needs.
“When it comes to our clients, the majority of it is repeat business and we’re steadily building on our new clientele list year on year,” Joe said.
“I think part of the reason why they choose us is because of the simplicity in the way that we work. We feel that we have everything in place quality wise here and in the space of 10 years we’ve managed to build up good trust with them.”
Indeed the company offers a comprehensive range of piling solutions to meet the needs of difficult ground conditions to provide modern, innovative and economical foundation solutions for the construction and civil engineering industries.
