Quality Construction from Kilcaven Property Developments

24 Apr , 2024

Coming up on 20 years in business, Kilcaven Property Developments Ltd is a second-generation construction company that has earned a glowing reputation for top-quality construction.

Based in Ballingly near Wellingtonbridge in Co. Wexford, the business was established in 2005 by Garry Sinnott, whose father Peter ran another construction company before him. “I basically carried on from where he left off with his business. I have been involved in construction since I left school 30 years ago and still get great support from my father,” Garry explains.

Delivering exceptional public and private projects across Wexford and beyond, Kilcaven Property Developments is a CIF and CIRI-registered company.  Kilcaven employs direct labour and a wide range of sub-contractor specialists as required for each project.  Purchasing is also done locally wherever possible to promote sustainability within the community.

Outstanding workmanship, attention to detail, competitive pricing and a commitment to working closely with clients to deliver total satisfaction are the hallmarks of Kilcaven Property Developments. Health & Safety is at the core of the business, and never more so than since the Covid-19 pandemic. From concept to completion, Garry and his team are with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs. With the construction sector continually evolving, we are also evolving as a company to the one stop shop model for retrofit works.  Likewise with the current housing crisis, the sector is moving towards a design and build model which we are actively preparing for.

Whether your next project is a new build, renovation, extension or retrofit, Kilcaven Property Developments’ one-stop shop approach will ensure that both the design and building processes are professionally project managed. The Co. Wexford contractor’s reputation for quality construction and ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from satisfied clients.

By employing highly-skilled people, collaborating with clients’ design teams and project managers, and using only the very best building products, this fully-insured contractor is able to deliver the highest quality construction.

“We specialise in private and public house building, renovations and retrofitting, which is a new string to our bow,” Garry says.

The company had been trading for a couple of years when the recession hit.

“We had to adapt to survive. We did everything from school extensions for the Department of Education to private house extensions, social housing and community projects. Social housing remains a large part of our business.”

Kilcaven Property Developments is currently carrying out a number of public and private projects, including a seven-unit housing development in Ballyhine, Barntown for Wexford County Council. The development is a mix of three- and two-bed semi-detached homes and also includes the refurbishment of a community unit.

In recent years, Kilcaven have successfully tendered and completed numerous mixed development schemes for Wexford County Council on brownfield sites such as a scheme of seven three-bed semi-detached houses in Glentire, The Ballagh for the local authority. Before that, Kilcaven Property Developments delivered an eight-unit development of two- and three-bed semi-detached houses at Cherry Orchard in Enniscorthy. The development included four specially adapted houses which were designed and constructed to meet the specific needs of the new tenants.  Under Private contract Kilcaven also delivered a specialist unit and independent living spaces for Acquired Brain Injury Ireland.

The Kilcaven team also constructs a number of new private dwellings every year. These can range in size from 1,500 sq. ft. to 4,000 sq. ft.

“We deliver good products on time and at competitive rates. There is a long tradition of building in the family. I come from a background of housing developments and have over 30 years’ experience in construction. My father built various schemes over the years and I learned a lot from him,” Garry continues.

“Reputation is extremely important to our business. Most of our private contracts are secured through word of mouth and recommendations from architects and previous clients.  Repeat business, which is a mark of the projects we deliver.

With the costs of materials having levelled off and inflation nowhere near where it was a year ago, the most pressing concern facing the industry right now is a shortage of skilled labour.  Kilcaven has an excellent staff of skilled workers who have been with the Company for many years and continue to grow their skills with the industry requirements.

As Kilcaven Property Developments continues to go from strength to strength, Garry would like to take this opportunity to thank his clients and suppliers for their support as well as his staff and subcontractors for their hard work, dedication and skill.

Here’s to the next 20 years!
