Based in Carryduff, Co Down, SC Developments Ireland Ltd is a building contractor company which specialises in new builds, extensions, renovations and maintenance. Building Ireland heard all about the company established a quarter of a century this year from its Managing Director, Stephen Chapman recently.
Business is good right now at SC Developments Ireland Ltd and the plan is to keep things that way.
Set-up in 1995, the company has grown significantly while still maintaining the core values introduced by its founder.
Stephen himself still exercises day-to-day control of the business and oversees every development, ensuring that each brand new home reflects a high standard of quality while cementing their place as one of the leading construction and development companies in Northern Ireland.
Building Ireland caught up with the Managing Director recently to learn more.
“We’re established 25 years this year and right now we have eight full-time staff,” with sub-contractors after that,” Stephen outlined.
SC Developments has always embraced changes within the industry and thrived on innovation, continuous improvement and best practice and it has developed into a dynamic and forward thinking organisation.
They have been delivering a professional construction and development services for 25 years now and the team itself in Carryduff comes with over 60 years of combined experience.
At the moment, business is thriving with live projects on-going all throughout Belfast and north Co Down.
“Business is going well right now and at the moment we have a lot of individual new builds on,” said Stephen.
“The lockdown was tough because things basically came to a halt overnight and it was something we had to deal with.
Earlier this year, SC Developments completed a project on Martinez Avenue, Belfast which was a new build retirement home.
Its construction was timber frame with a mixture of brick and rendered block work walls, allowing for high levels of insulation and air tightness using specialist membranes.
The windows on the building are high performance triple glazed PVC, meaning it has been constructed as a very warm home with reduce energy bills for the client.
Specialising in new builds, extensions, renovations and maintenance throughout Ireland and the UK, SC Developments has grown to become a building firm with the ability to undertake even the most complex project.
The company manages each project from the initial consultation phase right through design and planning all the way to site and construction.

“I think the company has been successful down through the years because of the quality of finish that we put on all of our projects,” said Stephen.
“It’s all hands on deck when we take on a project here and I think that shows when you see it fully completed.”
“We were off long enough there during the lockdown so we’re glad to be getting back to a bit of normality. he concluded.
