Castleknock-based Expert Scaffolding Ltd are celebrating 30 years of business in 2020. The family-run business has developed an enviable reputation for reliability over the course of the past three decades.
Established in 1990 by Michael Flood, Expert Scaffolding initially operated within the industry as a labour-only service. Back in 2002 they expanded to provide a supply, erect and dismantle service and are now in a position to cater to all scaffolding needs. Whether it be commercial or domestic, they are always willing to quote for works regardless of scale.
Keith Flood took over as Managing Director from his father five years ago and, speaking to Building Ireland, he pointed out: “We’re well established at this stage and very fortunate to have built up long standing relationships with loyal clients which has resulted in a lot of repeat business for the company.”
Expert Scaffolding provides quality scaffolding for all types of domestic projects, with an efficient and cost effective service guaranteed. Whether you are building a new property, an extension, conversion or a conservatory, they can provide you with the scaffolding you need. They use Kwikstage and Tube & Fitting scaffolding, with the most suitable options chosen based on the specifications of the domestic build project.
Expert Scaffolding will supply and transport scaffolding directly to your site, at which point they will perform the necessary assembly work and sign-off once they have carried out stringent health and safety checks. They will also perform regular maintenance checks whilst the scaffolding is being used to ensure the integrity of the scaffolding remains intact at all times.
Expert are also proud suppliers of high-quality scaffolding to commercial clients throughout Ireland. Down through the years, they have provided scaffolding for various commercial projects which have included everything from minor retail units to large scale commercial properties.
Their team has received all the necessary training to survey, erect, monitor and dismantle their scaffolding, with all work complete on time and within budget. Expert’s commercial scaffolding services are offered at competitive rates, with a free quotation provided (quotations are calculated on the size and scope of the project).
Keith and Expert’s 23 employees, which includes his younger brothers Michael junior and Ryan, pride themselves on delivering a flexible service and can provide scaffolding for short-term or long-term commercial projects. Once erected, they also perform regular inspections to ensure their scaffolding remains safe and secure.
“Business is flying, we’re basically at full capacity,” Keith revealed. “12 months ago we had 16 employees and now we’re up to 23. We have another couple of projects due to start this year which means we will be looking to recruit another four to six employees.”
Kwikstage Scaffolding systems are the most commonly used scaffolding systems in Ireland today thanks to their stability and ease of assembly.
“Kwikstage system scaffolding is ideally suited to one of our current contracts for one of the countries largest retrofit insulation companies , it allows us to adhere to a fast paced schedule of erecting scaffolding on between 15 to 20 houses for our client per week for external insulation works , along with their dismantling schedule for finished works on any given week.
“Our reliability and dependability on achieving our weekly targets for the client from day one has resulted in a working relationship and renewed contracts of almost 8 years now. Proof , that our philosophy of reliability brings repeat business is the right one.”
Where standard scaffolding sizes and lengths are not applicable, a tube and fitting scaffolding system is used as these are more flexible in design. This makes tube and fitting scaffolding systems ideal for projects which feature more complicated designs. At Expert Scaffolding, they supply tube and fitting scaffolding systems for a wide variety of projects, with a professional, reliable service guaranteed.
All of Expert’s scaffolding systems are fully compliant with all relevant regulations and legislation standards to ensure peace of mind on your project. Systems meet the highest industry standards with regards to quality, ensuring the equipment is durable and fit for purpose.
At Expert Scaffolding they have a large selection of light and heavy-duty components available to ensure they have the right equipment for any project and have a full range of accessories available to extend the capabilities.
“Reliability is the main thing,” Keith answered when asked: what are the secrets to Expert Scaffolding’s success? “If we say scaffolding will go up on a certain day it goes up on that day and it comes down on the day that the client wants it down. You have to be honest with your clients and my word is my bond. We take huge pride in our work and guarantee a professional service.”
When Keith is not busy with the day job, he moonlights as vice-chairman of the Scaffold Together Association (STA). The STA is a collection of different types of scaffolding companies that came together in early 2017. Its main aim is to provide a platform for and protect their members from the every day scaffolding problems which they encounter.
The biggest scaffolding association in Ireland now, the STA is heavily involved in the new apprenticeship scheme in helping the ETA through their members’ many years of experience. They have also been involved in the changes to the new scaffolding code of practice. The STA have direct contact with the HSA regarding safety in their industry and the enforcement of the new changes.
Back on the subject of Expert Scaffolding, they understand that when you are searching for a scaffolding company, you need to be sure that they can supply and fit scaffolding that is safe, reliable and to the highest industry standards. Contact Keith at the numbers below to find out more.
