AinScaff Scaffolding offers its clients the complete scaffolding solution throughout Ireland. Simon Ainscough is the Dublin-based company’s Managing Director and told Building Ireland more about the business when we caught up with him recently.
Set-up by the Simon Ainscough jnr in 2011, AinScaff Scaffolding is now experiencing one of the busiest periods since its inception and Simon Ainscough is keen to keep up the current pace.
The company is situated in Turvey Business Park in Donabate, Co Dublin and provides a professional service, supplying and delivering all the scaffolding required for any project, from self-build, commercial, aviation and pharmaceutical trade contracts.
AinScaff Scaffolding stocks a wide range of scaffold systems for every project and are happy to announce substantial investment in the Layher scaffold system.
The company’s focus is 100% on scaffolding and they have no competing agendas or distractions, only using fully trained direct employees. Applying a personal touch, they work with their clients to make sure we are offering you the best all-encompassing solution for your project’s needs.
When Building Ireland caught up with Simon recently AinScaff Scaffolding’s MD was good enough to take time out of a hectic schedule to fill us in about the business.
“We’re established six years now and we’re currently operating with 15 staff,” Simon outlined.
“Basically, we set-up in the later years of the recession because people were coming to me after the first few years and asking if I was still in the scaffolding industry.
“I got the idea of setting up my own company and we remained small. During the recession, we built up a list of clients on our reputation. We’ve done work for Clancy Construction, Monami Construction, John Paul Construction and Hegarty & Sons.
The list of clients now stretches well beyond that, with many of them more than familiar with the Ainscough name.
Simon Ainscough snr has been in the scaffolding game for almost half a 40 years now and remains “in the background” in his son’s business.
For Simon, he couldn’t ask to have a better experienced campaigner in his corner than his very own father.
“My father would be in this business 40 years,” he explained. “He brings an array of experience to this business and I’m delighted to have him here with me.
“We feel that there are two main reasons why our clients come to us first. One, is because of the knowledge that we have within the industry and, two, is the high standard of training and experience that we possess.”
AinScaff Scaffolding offers the following services nationwide to new and existing customers: Free Site Survey & Quotation; Supply & Erect Scaffolding Hire; Scaffolding Inspection; Labour Only; Flexible and Competitive Rates; All Types of Domestic & Commercial Scaffold; Expertise in Temporary Roof Solutions and all of their jobs are pull tested.

With regards to the company’s Temporary Roof and Weather Protection, they provide a high degree of versatility, and will encompass wide roof spans and complex applications. The use of a Temporary Roof solution can enable work to carry on within a comfortable working environment and maintain high levels of productivity.
All of these services combined, makes it hard for clients to look elsewhere when it comes to the need for a scaffolding service.
Simon revealed that business right now is as demanding as it has ever been since starting up this venture.
“At the minute it’s plentiful,” he stated.
“It’s coming to a stage where the contracts are getting bigger and bigger and we will probably have to expand in order to keep up with the demand.”
Clients such as Shamrock Ashphalt Roofing, McGee Conservation and PC Ceilings have been with AinScaff Scaffolding from the outset and the list of clientele continues to swell.
On current form, new projects are popping up every couple of weeks for the company and the hope is that the trend will continue, with more and more work seemingly becoming available in the Dublin area.
Simon makes no secret of the fact that most of their projects are based in the capital.
“We’ve a couple more projects down the line as well and it’s just about trying to keep toe-to-toe with our competitors now.”
Now coming towards the halfway point of 2017, Simon knows that he’s arriving at a juncture where he’ll have to make big decisions for the future of his company.
“It’s a matter of deciding on how big we want to be right now,” he said. “Like I said earlier, we’re probably going to have to expand in order to keep up with the demand but, as they say, ‘small is beautiful’.”
