Bravo Contracts Ltd has enjoyed a very successful first two years in business as owner Mark Brady proudly explains.
Founded in 2023, the Mullingar-based company has quickly established itself as a leading electrical contractor in the Midlands region with expertise in the domestic, commercial, industrial, retail, pharmaceutical, data centre, agricultural and fire alarm sectors. The Safe Electric-registered and fully-insured contractor also specialises in the supply of quality electricians to large-scale industrial projects, and has earned a glowing reputation which results in repeat business and recommendations from scores of satisfied clients.
Bravo Contracts’ electricians deliver outstanding service and support at competitive prices, all in a safe, reliable and professional manner. All of their work is guaranteed and complies with the highest industry standards. Each electrician has their own area of expertise and, in most cases, are vastly experienced. Superior workmanship, trust and attention to detail are other hallmarks of this highly-regarded business which continues to go from strength to strength.
“We’re a multi-faceted contracting firm that can carry out any electrical job successfully,” Mark says.
“We cater for all sectors and also supply electricians, apprentices and general operatives for labour hire. More recently, we’ve branched into acquiring security, BMS and earth packages from the likes of Kirby’s, and work alongside them on their sites.
“The key to our success is our top-class workforce. Our electricians are the best in the business. We look after them and retain them. We also take great pride in our apprentices. We know exactly where to source them from, and put them on the path to a successful career in the industry.
“We’re very grateful for all the support we have received from our customers and suppliers to date. But my No. 1 cheerleader from Day 1 has been my wife Aíne, who looks after the administration side of things. Without her, Bravo Contracts wouldn’t have happened.”
The award-winning business was born out of a suggestion from a project manager Mark worked with on a Kirby’s site in Tullamore, who asked him about going out on his own. The sports fanatic admitted that he wouldn’t know where to start, but the manager gave him some advice and encouragement, and helped him to get off the ground.
“I started up with four lads in early 2023 and by the middle of 2024, I was up to about 30, now I’m at 49. I tend to hire local. Even though I’m a townie myself, I would have a preference for lads from a farming background because of their strong work ethic. That’s what I’ve built a brand on, I know every single guy, or the family of every one who works for me.
“We have 16 or 17 apprentices in the Westmeath area and they are lads I know through sport or I played football with their dads.”
Originally from Rochfortbridge but living in Mullingar for many years, Mark served his time with Mercury Engineering in Dublin before returning to the Lake County to work for Matty Conaty Electrical and Writech. He joined Jones Engineering after that, specialising in services and sprinkler systems as he had done with Writech, before rejoining Mercury. Mark further his electrical knowledge and experience with Mellett Electrical and the Kirby Group before finally deciding to set up his own business. He has been ably assisted by Ronan Flanagan, who is his lead foreman and a close friend for over 20 years.
Satisfaction is guaranteed on every Bravo Contracts job, whether it be a small domestic emergency or a large industrial installation. Everyone is treated the same regardless of their size.
“We have four lads in vans catering for domestic clients across the Midlands and are Safe Electric-registered to carry out this type of work,” Mark explains.
“The rest of our crew are currently with Kirby’s in Dexcom in Athenry, Abbott in Longford and Vantage in Adamstown, Dublin. We’ve 35 guys on the Dexcom project alone. We’ve also recently collaborated with Cloncad on a new wing at Merlin Park University Hospital in Galway and CJK on the full rewiring of Robertstown National School in Co. Kildare. We’ve also worked for Suir Engineering and are starting a new administration block with the Tim Kelly Group at Portlaoise Garda Station in January.
“We’ve made a good impression everywhere we’ve gone and our aim is to compete with Tier II contractors in the near future.”
Bravo Contracts’ success hasn’t gone unnoticed and resulted in the company winning ‘Outstanding Small Business of the Year’ at the 2025 Mullingar Chamber Awards. It has also allowed Mark to give something back to the community who supports him in the guise of sports team sponsorship as well as a Christmas raffle for a €1,000 Smyths toy shop voucher and a donation of €250 to the charity of the winner’s choice.
“We have a strong online presence and that helped to make the Christmas raffle a resounding success,” he adds.
Having played GAA and soccer for a number of clubs – his GAA clubs included St Mary’s, Rochfortbridge, St Loman’s, Mullingar, Civil Service in Dublin, Castletown-Finea/Coole/Whitehall and Ballynacargy – Mark has become acquainted with a large number of people through sport and this has led to him providing sponsorship to Multyfarnham GAA, Mullingar Town FC and Grange United FC to name but a few. He continues to line out himself for the Westmeath Masters (Over 40s) football team.
“I sponsored Grange United this year because a couple of my apprentices play for them. I sponsored Mullingar Town last season, because I played for them. I’m sponsoring Multyfarnham GAA because my nephew was in a county final with them recently. I also sponsor a young soccer player and neighbour, Jack Penrose, who is a phenomenal talent with a bright future ahead of him.”
Bravo Contracts strives to ensure its customers receive 5-star treatment. Every project is treated with the respect it deserves. Indeed, Mark and his team don’t stop until you are completely satisfied.
