Celebrating 35 years in business, Phoenix Aluminium Ltd is a leading aluminium façade specialist based in Dublin. Providing a nationwide service for commercial glazing solutions, the company’s portfolio of aluminium façade systems comprises curtain walling, spider glazing, doors, windows, shop front, ground floor framing and roof glazing.
As an established supplier and commercial contractor, Phoenix Aluminium Ltd is the company of choice of many professionals and businesses for high-quality secure aluminium window and door products. It is dedicated to providing a first-class service, from consultation to manufacture and installation.
The company recognises the importance of fabrication and installation for the long-term performance of the systems it uses, is committed to high standards of manufacture and adheres rigidly to the guidelines as set out by each system supplier. Installation is also a key element to high performance and as such is completed in accordance with the Building Regulations and BS Standards.
Phoenix Aluminium Ltd continually strives to improve every aspect of its business, from the design stage to delivery and installation on site. Its high-quality façade glazing and entrance door systems are used in commercial offices, public buildings, retail premises and areas of buildings requiring safety or secure glazing. The leading commercial glazing contractor guarantees 35 years’ experience, a five-year warranty, fast delivery, outstanding support as well as the highest industry standards and best materials with every contract it undertakes.
“We are primarily a commercial / industrial contractor who has worked all over the country, from Letterkenny to Kinsale to Killarney and Galway,” managing director Frank Horan explains.
“We look after all the fabrication and installation needs of our customers. Every order is produced with precision and strict quality controls to ensure that only the finest products leave our factory for distribution. We work very closely with the client throughout the entire process to ensure that their expectations are not only met, but exceeded.”
Fabricated in its state-of-the-art 4,500 sq. ft. facility in Bluebell Industrial Estate near the Red Cow interchange, and built to last in robust aluminium, all of Phoenix Aluminium’s window and doors products are available in a choice of colours, finishes and are designed with security in mind. As well as manufacturing its own products, the company is a long-established Reynaers and Schuco fabricator with expert knowledge and proven experience in the products of systems of both brands.
“We fabricate and install aluminium and curtain walling for offices,” Frank continues.
“Our façade glazing and entrance door systems are used in commercial offices, public buildings, retail premises and areas of buildings in need of safety or security glazing.”
Phoenix Aluminium Ltd boasts an impressive portfolio of work in the retail, healthcare, education, leisure, public buildings and industrial sectors, and an equally impressive client list which includes reputable building contractors such as Bennett Construction, PJ Hegarty & Sons, John Paul & Co, Walls Construction, John Sisk & Son, Duggan Brothers, Purcell Construction, Sammon Builders and JJ Rhatigan. Its reputation for providing a top-class quality service earns it repeat business time and again.
Among the prestigious projects Phoenix Aluminium Ltd has successfully completed in recent years are the GPO Witness History Interpretive Exhibition Centre, Kilsaran House, Phoenix House in Trinity College Dublin, Airbnb’s Dublin headquarters in Hanover Quay, the two main entrances at Google’s Gordon House and Gasworks House, McCormick Naughton & Sons (heavy machinery suppliers) and the Applegreen Service Stations on the M7 and M11 motorways.
Currently, Phoenix Aluminium Ltd is working in conjunction with Bennett Construction on a private student accommodation project in Dorset Street and with PJ Hegarty & Sons on an extension to Terminal 1 Pier 1 at Dublin Airport. The company is also supplying glazing to the new Bristol-Myers Squibb pharmaceutical plant in Tyrrellstown and to the North Star Hotel in Dublin city centre.
Phoenix Aluminium Ltd was founded in 1982 by Frank Burke and Joe Hackett. Frank Horan joined them two years later and ran the company alongside Frank Burke from 1986 to 2005 before taking sole charge. His wife Eva and daughter Caroline are also directors of the company. Frank and Caroline, who is a qualified engineer, are joined on the management team by Robbie McGrath, Philip Cowman, Ian Mitchell and Goran Vrcan, who is also an engineer by profession.
The firm, which employs a highly-skilled fabrication and installation team, has come through two recessions, with the most recent one being the worst Frank has experienced.
“We had six or seven really tough years before things finally started to turn around in 2015,” the affable Dubliner says.
“I can safely say that we wouldn’t have survived the downturn if our glazing wasn’t first-class. The only time we ever had to go looking for work was during the recession, and even at that we didn’t have to put a salesperson on the road. The vast majority of our work is secured through word of mouth and that’s testament to the quality of our products, workmanship, competitive pricing, attention to detail and friendly and prompt service.”
