The company owns and operates its own piling equipment, offering a cost-effective approach to projects. Utilising their specialist knowledge, skills, work boats and equipment, they are able to undertake extraction as well as installation of sheet, timber and steel tubular piling for marine structures.
Some recent projects completed this year alone include the environmentally sensitive silt curtain installation at Haulbowline, maintenance works with Zenith Energy at Whiddy Oil Refinery and maintenance works with Irving Oil at Whitegate Oil Refinery amongst others.
LCF Marine successfully completed environmentally-sensitive remedial works to the off-shore jetty at Whiddy Island in Bantry Bay. The jetty had remained untouched since the Betelgeuse disaster in 1979 and had considerable amounts of fire-damaged material in need of removal. The works involved removal of hazardous loose and attached steel and other debris from the jetty. Navigation lanterns, stands, ladders, gates and warning signs were also installed.
LCF’s exceptional project delivery skills and work ethic have ensured that the company is always in high demand and this has seen the business develop and expand both its operations and workforce in recent years.
The company’s growth has continued with their acquisition of the Sealite agency and LCF Marine are the sole authorised distributor of Sealite Marine Aids to Navigation in Ireland. Sealite’s products’ superior technology and reliability is recognised for advancing the safety of marine operations worldwide.
The market leader in the manufacture of AtoN’s, Sealite’s IALA compliant, globally renowned aids to navigation include a comprehensive selection of solar and battery navigation lanterns, marine buoys and mooring solutions, all at remarkably competitive prices. LCF Marine can advise, supply, install and maintain these products as required.
LCF were appointed to supply and install navigation buoys as part of Wexford County Council’s Harbour Extension Plan. Vessel Kismet was mobilised to Wexford and installed twelve Sealite AQF 800 buoys and Sealite’s market leading SL-70 navigation lanterns from stock. Sealite SL-C310s were fitted as bridge lights at Ferrycarrig Bridge. Annual maintenance was also carried out on existing navigation buoys and lanterns.
LCF Marine also installed a new marina at Cape Clear, County Cork. This marina was loaded on board vessel Kismet at Baltimore Harbour and transported to Cape Clear by sea.
The company was also engaged to transport army vehicles and cargo to and from Spike Island in Cork Harbour and were deployed to replace the navigation lanterns on the warning pillars adjacent to Samuel Beckett Bridge on the River Liffey. Here, they supplied and installed Sealite SL-70 16ah lanterns. These lanterns are one of the best-selling navigation lights in Ireland, with a range of two-three nautical miles.
Another successfully-completed project was the installation of two navigation perches in Dundalk Harbour. The perches were driven into the seabed using LCF’s specialist piling equipment. Evidently, LCF Marine is a contractor whose proven ability to get the job done speaks for itself.
LCF Marine is an exciting, progressive company with a trusted and distinguished standing in the marine sector. More than a quarter of a century of hard work has earned the company its deserved position as Ireland’s leading marine contractor and with the knowledge, skills and experience acquired through this hard work, LCF Marine will continue to lead from the front.
