The Brazil name has been synonymous with service to the construction industry in Ireland. As an extension to the existing services they have decided the time is right to establish a piling company, based in Kildare, to service the piling needs of the Irish construction sector.
Director of Piling Liam O’Brien spoke to Building Ireland about the success of this section of the business which has been established since 2017.
“Frank Brazil decided to set up the piling operation, being involved in the supply of steel reinforcement to the piling industry in Ireland and the UK for many years, the timing was right for a new piling contractor in Ireland. With the guidance and experience of Pat McGann & Mark Hanniffy onboard Brazil Piling & Foundations was formed on a solid footing,” said Liam.
Since being established almost three years ago, Brazil Piling & Foundations has been involved in a number of prestigious projects including Centre Parcs, The Curragh Racecourse redevelopment, Grangegorman Campus and Dominic street student accommodation buildings.
A number of their completed projects has been carried out for SISK and being involved with such a prestigious has really established them as a leader in their field of expertise.
“We have carried out a number of projects for SISK, all of which have been very prestigious projects and with the experience we have, we are confident of carrying out any job, regardless of scale.”
Liam revealed that they use the most modern of equipment that is kept in pristine condition, which he feels is essential to carry out their work to the highest standard possible.
“Our equipment consists of fleet of modern CFA and Rotary boring rigs with the capability to form piles with diameters ranging from 300mm to 1500mm, and up to 40 metres deep. We can offer the full piling service including advice and budget prices, pile design, pile reinforcement and pile testing.”
The Brazil team are very experienced with staff having worked in the piling industry for a large number of years all over the world, which means they can deal with any situation that arises.
“We have assembled a team of personnel with significant geotechnical experience who are more than happy to share their experience and advice.
“Our success is based on having a close knit team of managers and engineers, a well trained and skilled workforce and the dedication and determination to constantly deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to the specifications required.
Safety and quality are absolute priorities for Brazil piling. To improve safety awareness and to ensure delivery of a quality product, all employees go through structured training. Ongoing training programmes are in place to continuously improve the safety and quality culture of our whole team in their offices, workshops and construction sites.
“Safety is paramount. If you are to do any work for the likes of SISK or any of the big companies, you have to have everything in order and place a great emphasis on health and safety, otherwise, you will not be doing any work for them, it is as simple as that.”
