North West Aluminium grow UK sales team with three new appointments

16 Jun , 2021

North West Aluminium’s roofing accessory brand Kytun, along with  Gutterclad – their aluminium rainwater system range, have bolstered  their national sales team with three new appointments across the UK.

Combined, the new recruits bring more than 55 years’ roofing sales experience to North West  Aluminium.

Working alongside the current team, they will be responsible for growing the client-base across  the UK and developing new business opportunities for the company’s roofing accessory range &  aluminium rainwater systems among contractors, specifiers, architects, and installers.

Joining them are Alex Grant, Stuart Brown and Guy Howell, who each bring a wealth of sales,  manufacturing and industry experience to their new roles at the company.

As well as their extensive knowledge of the roofing sector, between them they have ran three  marathons, enjoyed “an illustrious rugby career” and played before 16,000 people in a heavy metal  band.

Alex Grant, Scotland – Alex is Kytun’s new Business Development Manager in Scotland and has  extensive experience in both the electronic and construction sector.  He started his career in semiconductor production before moving to the  construction sector where he has spent the last 20 years in sales roles with  Vencel Resil/Jablite, Farko, Cupa, Welsh Slate Ltd and SIG Roofing. Not one to shy away from a challenge, Alex has run three marathons, three  half marathons and taken part in three triathlons – not to mention hiking the  scenic surrounds of Ben Nevis ten times, Snowdon twice and walking the West  Highland Way.

As if all that was not challenging enough for this football, rugby and golf fan, he  also taught his granddaughters to play chess when they were just five years old!

Stuart Brown, North West & Lancashire – Kytun’s new Business Development Manager for the northwest of England is  Liverpool supporter, Stuart Brown, from St Helen’s.

Stuart started his career with SIG Roofing Supplies where he worked his way  through every role to become a branch manager. Prior to joining Kytun he was  with Huws Gray Builder Merchants where he grew his knowledge of roofing and building materials.

Not one to miss a beat when it comes to roofing, Stuart has also been playing drums since he was 11-years-old and has toured the UK with his old school band.  The peak of his musical career saw him perform at a UK Heavy Metal festival  called ‘Bloodstock’ before an audience of 16,000 people. He still enjoys reuniting  with his school friends for the occasional gig and recording some new songs ‘just  for fun’.

Guy Howell, Midlands – Completing Kutyn’s new appointments is Business Development  Manager, Guy Howell.

Guy has over 20 years roofing sector experience, having started out with an  independent roofing merchant where he worked his way up into a management role.

He then moved to another independent roofing supply firm, and this is where  he gained first-hand experience of Kytun’s extensive range of products and the  benefits they bring to contractors, merchants, developers and self-builders. In his career to date, Guy has played roles in the supply chain on a range of  projects including historic buildings, redevelopment schemes, prestigious new  builds and has “copious amounts of sitework” under his belt. A dedicated rugby fan, he enjoyed a “long and illustrious rugby career” and is  never found wanting when it comes to discussing the “shortcomings” of the  English squad at any given opportunity.

Welcoming Alex, Stuart and Guy to the team, Kytun’s UK Sales Manager Pauric Hilferty said: We are delighted  to welcome these three highly-experienced salespeople to our team. They bring expert knowledge of the  construction sector as well as of the traditional roofing and aluminium rainwater system market. This expertise  will play a crucial role in securing new projects over the next 12 months and beyond in regions right across  the UK.”
