KSN Energy has announced that its Dublin and Cavan offices have achieved ISO 50001:2011 certification for their energy management system.
The achievement of ISO 50001 certification is in line with KSN’s continued drive for sustainability and energy efficiency in its buildings and their operations across Ireland. The main objective of the ISO 50001 standard is to continually improve an organisation’s energy performance, which includes energy consumption, use, and efficiency. The standard employs a defined approach that helps organisations establish systems and processes to identify untapped energy efficiencies and make a significant contribution to environmental performance, climate protection and reduction of CO2 emissions.
Commenting on the certification Lorcan Downey, KSN Energy, Scheme Manager commented; “Energy conservation and efficiency are critical components of our sustainability program.” ISO 50001 certification was the logical next step in our sustainability journey, complementing our well-established integrated management system and business model. The path to certification has provided us with a better understanding of how we can improve our energy management as a business and ensures that we are now well-positioned to demonstrate our credentials in energy management and sustainability to customers and stakeholders alike.”

Certification Europe has granted the ISO 50001:2011 certification which is valid for five years. Along with ISO 50001 certification, the KSN group has achieved ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, and ISO 45001 certifications making it one of the leading certified construction consultancy firms in Ireland.
