An All-Star fitout service

23 Aug , 2021

Creighan Contracts Ltd is a Business All-Stars accredited company which offers a complete interior fitout solution across a range of sectors, including retail, healthcare, leisure, office and hospitality.

The Castleblayney-based fitout specialist celebrated its 15th anniversary in style late last year when it joined the Business All-Stars roll of honour as the “All-Ireland Commercial Refurbishment Company of the Year 2020/21” in an online ceremony. The accreditation was awarded following an audit carried out by the All-Ireland Business Foundation which accredits best-in-class Irish businesses as Business All-Stars. The Foundation also oversees the All-Ireland Business Summit while promoting peer dialogue among its members on an ongoing basis.

“We’re delighted to have this accreditation. It makes us stand out from the crowd and should help us to win more tenders in the future,” says Creighan Contracts managing director Eddie Murphy.

An innovative and forward-thinking company which operates nationwide, Creighan Contracts manages each project from inception to completion, working closely with each client to ensure their vision is achieved on time and within budget. Uncompromising in its drive for excellence, this allows the contractor to deliver superior, tailored-spaces that its clients can be proud of.

Creighan Contracts provides full-scale construction solutions across the commercial, retail, healthcare and leisure sectors. With a dedicated team of managers, foremen and staff, the Co. Monaghan firm collaborates with its clients to create unique construction solutions.

Creighan Contracts founder Eddie Murphy worked in construction in New York before returning to Ireland in 2000 and becoming a partner in a drywall sub-contracting business which grew to employ 150 people. After setting up Creighan Contracts in 2005, Eddie remained a drywall / partitions sub-contractor until 2013 when he became a main fitout contractor. And he hasn’t looked back since.

“The move from sub-contracting to main contracting has worked out very well,” he explains.

“We’re now turning the same amount of money with 15 staff as we were with 150. We’re smaller, tighter and smarter and crucially are in control of everything we do. We have a small but committed team which includes our manager Shane Rogers and manager Yvonne Callan. The rest are site managers. Up to 90% of our work is sub-contracted to the same tried and trusted contractors.”

One of the main projects to establish Creighan Contracts in the main contracts arena was the rebranding of a Topaz (now Circle K) convenience store near the Red Cow Moran Hotel in Dublin to ReStore. This led to Creighan Contracts carrying out a further 84 Topaz rebrands across the country.

“We did 85 out of 140 Topaz store rebrands over a 24-month period. We were doing one every 10-12 days which was a huge undertaking. We had to learn quickly. But it was a great contract to get us established as a main fitout contractor,” he continues.

“Coming out of the recession, it set us on the right path.”

Since then, Creighan Contracts has carried out fit-outs for Centra, Applegreen, F45 Training, Monaghan County Council, Shannon Ortho, St John of God, Spinal Injuries Ireland to name but a few. Current works include the fitout of Safari’s flagship crèche in Clancy Quay and numerous fit-outs in Nutgrove Shopping Centre for Day Properties.

“We’ve built up a large and loyal customer-base mainly through recommendations and word of mouth. About 50% of our business is repeat or referrals. This speaks volumes for the level of trust our clients show in us.”

Creighan Contracts stays ahead of the competition by offering a fitout service that is second to none. Eddie would like to take this opportunity to thank his suppliers and clients for their continued support as well as his staff and sub-contractors for their hard work, dedication and expertise.
