Based in Naas, Co Kildare, Creedon Construction Ltd is a family-run business which achieves the highest standard of building through a flexible and innovative approach. Building Ireland touched base with Daniela Creedon to learn all about company, from its origins to the state of business at the moment.

Business is booming right now at Creedon Construction Ltd and company directors Michael is keen to keep things that way right through 2021.

Based on the Sallins Road in Naas, Co Kildare, the company specialises in all aspects of new home construction services, house extension and are known as period restoration experts which prides itself on superior quality of service and design.

Michael Creedon himself has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and today he heads up a multi award-winning building and construction company.

Building Ireland recently caught up with Daniela Creedon, who is the company’s Operations Manager, to learn all about what is very much a thriving business.

“The company is registered since 2008, but it’s kind of a long story,” Daniela outlined.

“Michael has been doing this for 30 years now and has a lot of experience, having completed so many projects down through the years.

“We carry out all kinds of projects between domestic, residential and commercial and we also do new builds and restoration of period projects.

“We take on quirky and interesting fit-out work as well and have carried out some very unique and highly specialised pharmaceutical and high precision, one of a kind retail projects in that area.”

The company also boasts a rich history, with the Creedon family having been prominent in the Irish construction industry for over 100 years.

They have been responsible for many notable buildings constructed in various sectors including religious, educational, commercial and residential projects carried out throughout Ireland.

Today, Creedon Construction is carrying on its established traditions of quality and excellence in all of its projects.

The Co Kildare-based firm has been involved in numerous award-winning projects throughout Leinster.

Some of the most prestigious homes and notable commercial projects in Dublin were built under the management and direction of Creedon Construction.

They are committed to helping clients receive the best standard of building and to enjoy a direct advantage over competitors through a flexible and innovative approach to design, construction and fit-out.

Indeed, the Creedon name has come a long way in the construction industry since the 1930s and Daniela is glad to report that business for the company is thriving in spite of these challenging times.

The Covid-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on businesses worldwide and, in Ireland, government lockdown this past Spring forced many to shut down for more than two months.

Creedon Construction were no different to the rest with regards to closure, but the company has been extremely busy with projects since lockdown was lifted on May 18th.

“It’s actually never been busier. We have remained busy since the last recession here,” said Daniela.

“To be honest, with regards to the lockdown it was our clients that were more affected than us. It slowed us down with regulations and has also driven up the costs of materials, but the work is happening.

“The only thing is that if we had a job for 26 weeks that number has now gone up to around 45 weeks and that drives up costs, due to strict guidelines to keep number of site staff with ample workspace for social distancing and minimum contact. Our suppliers and sub-contractors are experiencing the same which is causing delays in delivery but at least we are doing all we can to keep everyone safe and healthy. We want our staff to bring paycheque home, rather than Covid-19.”

All of that considered, Creedon Construction still continues to strive to provide clients with the highest quality end product.

The culture of the company is to provide a high-quality finish in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

Top Management of Creedon Construction ensures quality control by using the best construction practices in line with health and safety standards.

At the moment, the company has several on-going projects, including one with links to Michael’s father, Robert Creedon, from decades ago.

“At the moment, we are doing a couple of modern new builds,” said Daniela.

“We are also gutting and extending a house in Clontarf, as well as doing repair work to the Ormonde Hotel site.

“That one is interesting because Michael’s father would have designed the original hotel years ago and it’s now one of our restoration projects here.”

Creedon Construction has always been committed to delivering high quality and innovative design which is tailored to the client’s requirements.

The company continues its established traditions of quality and excellence in construction, with the Ormonde Hotel project being another prime example.

Members of the CIF, CIRI and Masters Builders Association, quality is always assured when a project is undertaken by Creedon Construction and it has been a key factor in the company’s longevity and success, according to Daniela.

“The Creedon name really stands for something in construction,” she said.

“It has an unblemished reputation since the 1930s and to this day our work remains superb and of the highest quality.”

Looking towards the coming months, Daniela says all at Creedon Construction are very much optimistic given the state of business at the moment.

However, she says they are also sensitive to the struggles which the Covid-19 pandemic have brought to many of their clients.

“We are busy here at the moment and we want that continue,” she said.

“These are still difficult times though and you never know what’s around the corner. We just hope that the situation improves with Covid-19 and that everyone we work with remains healthy.”

Here’s hoping.
