Castlebawn Construction celebrates 20 years

13 Nov , 2024

Celebrating 20 years in business, Castlebawn Construction is committed to creating superior custom homes in the greater Dublin area.

Based in Kilcock, Co. Kildare, Castlebawn Construction has earned an enviable reputation for quality, energy-efficient construction in both the residential and commercial sectors. Its services range from new builds to refurbishments, extensions and property maintenance. The company strives to deliver a seamless building experience, maintaining strong relationships and providing ongoing support throughout the process.

Castlebawn Construction’s commitment to quality and professionalism has made it the preferred construction partner for many leading architectural and engineering firms in the region, including Brennan Furlong Architects and Urban Planners, Ciarán Ferrie Architects, Davey & Smith Architects, John Cross Chartered Building Surveyor and Cunningham Consulting Civil & Structural Engineers. This trust is testament to the contractor’s ability to exceed expectations and attract repeat clients.

A carpenter by trade, Joe Somers founded Castlebawn Construction in 2004 after working with Ballymore Homes for 12 years prior to that. He named the company after a housing estate he lived in briefly in Allenwood, Co. Kildare. Joe is joined by a small but dedicated team who are supplemented by the same tried and trusted subcontractors. It goes without saying that Castlebawn Construction’s people are its greatest asset.

“We undertake all types of construction work from foundation to turnkey finishes,” the affable Kilcock man says.

“We’re passionate about innovating in construction, making our clients’ lives easier through precision, expertise and personal service. We don’t just build properties – we build lasting relationships. Repeat business is key. For example, we were recently asked to do further refurbishments to a house, seven years after we had carried out a split-level extension to the same house for the same customer in Rathfarnham.

“We have a top-class team of direct employees and subcontractors. Our subbies know the standard of work that’s required. We look after them and they look after us. It has to be a ‘win-win’ for everyone involved. We specialise in high-end projects with the highest possible energy rating. Our brief is to build A-rated energy efficient homes that balance comfort, style and sustainability.

“We look forward to continuing to serve our clients on their construction journeys with our unwavering dedication to quality.”

Outstanding workmanship, attention to detail, value-for-money, Health & Safety and a commitment to working closely with clients to deliver total satisfaction are the hallmarks of Castlebawn Construction. From concept to completion, Joe and his team are with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs, and that there are no hidden or extra costs involved.

Whether your next project is a new build, renovation or extension, Castlebawn Construction’s one-stop shop approach will ensure that both the design and building processes are smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. The Kildare contractor’s reputation for quality construction and ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from design teams and scores of satisfied customers.

By employing highly-skilled people, working closely with its engineers and architects, and using only the very best building products, this fully insured, compliant and SEAI-approved family business is able to deliver the highest quality construction to its clients.

Castlebawn Construction enjoys an excellent relationship with its subcontractors. Its main suppliers are Brooks, Chadwicks, Murdock’s, Clane Providers, Topline Cleary’s (Kilcock), Roadstone and Hanlon Concrete Products.

Among Castlebawn Construction’s current projects are a new two-storey home in Kilcock, refurbishments works to his alma mater, St Joseph’s Boys’ National School and to a bungalow, which is also in Kilcock.

While business is booming at the moment, it wasn’t always that way as Joe explains:

“We were only in business a few years when the recession hit. Work was scarce, but I sent out some flyers and managed to get a job in Parsons Hall, Maynooth and that led to other jobs. Most of our work continues to be secured through word of mouth and reputation.”

Castlebawn Construction’s success is not only attributed to its talented and respected professionals, but also to its strong relationships with the best subcontractors, suppliers and design teams in the industry. By collaborating with these partners, the contractor can ensure the highest quality outcomes for its clients and end-users.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us and helped us in any way over the last 20 years,” Joe concludes.

Here’s to the next 20 years of this exceptional building firm!
