Chancery Group helps you to build better

1 Dec , 2023

Chancery Group in Tullamore, Co. Offaly is a leading construction consultancy specialising in Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Engineering.

With a strong focus on quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness, Chancery Group provides a comprehensive range of construction services to clients from the heart of Ireland. The practice was established in 1997 by Padraig Arthur, who is a project manager and chartered quantity surveyor by profession, and continues to go from strength to strength by empowering clients to build better.

Padraig and his five-strong team provide chartered quantity surveying, cost consulting, project management and chartered engineering services to a wide variety of clients in the private and public sectors, including developers, main contractors, specialist subcontractors, Government agencies, religious orders, court services and commercial enterprises.

Chancery Consultancy takes pride in its reputation among architects and engineers for integrity and professionalism, ethical operations and relentless quality assurance. The practice believes its way of doing business, carrying out exactly what it promises, fulfilling its responsibilities ethically, and putting clients’ interest first, is the reason why it is the construction consulting firm of choice for so many of Ireland’s leading enterprises. The company holds the ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 9001:2015 accreditation.

For over 25 years, Chancery Group has served as a trusted ally to building professionals who know it won’t deviate from its commitment to clients, or from the highest professional standards. Its word is its bond.

From new homes and wind farms to healthcare facilities and car test centres, Chancery Group is committed to innovation and the highest standards of cost planning, cost control and cost management.

“We believe in working hard to make progress in the most cost-effective manner rather than working hard to fix expensive, preventable mistakes,” says Padraig.

“We attribute our success to our professional team which delivers top-class projects efficiently and on time. We have a nationwide client-base who use our services time and again. We have never been without work.  We’re also fully committed to the continuous professional development of our employees.”

In recent years, Chancery Group has completed many prestigious projects, including the LOETB (Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board) Training Centre in Mount Lucas, Co. Offaly, the Edenderry Ambulance Station, Mater Private Hospital electrical upgrade, Barclay Court residential development, Athlone (Golden Island) Credit Union extension and a portal-framed warehouse unit for a global provider of products and services that support patient care with an emphasis on infection prevention in Tullamore.

Padraig and his team continue to play a central role in the latter company’s continued expansion where its good outwards facility is currently being extended. They are also currently engaged in a €12.5 million revamp to optimise use of space for the Mater Private Network.

“We do a lot of quantity surveying work for the Mater Private Network. Des Nally Developments in Athlone and Flanagan Properties in Tullamore also avail of our services on a regular basis,” Padraig continues.

Having initially worked in the UK after qualifying as a chartered quantity surveyor, Padraig returned home to set up Padraig Arthur & Associates in July 1997. From 2003 onwards, the practice evolved into providing project management, civil and structural engineering services. “When the downturn happened, I did a Masters in Project Management in UL over two years part-time,” he explains.

While project management is considered a natural partnership to quantity surveying, engineering services on the other hand is a specialised area. With an uptake in workload and enquiries, the journey to procuring and selecting suitable and professionally qualified engineering staff commenced in 2015. Satisfied that the right team was in place and well settled in their roles, the practice was rebranded from Padraig Arthur & Associates to Chancery Group in early 2017 to give it a broader platform from which to offer clients the three core services in an efficient and harmonious way.

Quantity surveying, project management and engineering can be offered selectively or completely independent of each other. This principle recognises that many clients may already have an established relationship with one or more providers of the three core disciplines with no need or desire to change.

Chancery Group is a member of Engineers Ireland, RICS, Institute Project Management Ireland and Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland.

In summary, Chancery Group is committed to providing a dynamic, comprehensive and professional level of service to both established clients and prospective new clients for many years to come. Padraig would like to take this opportunity to thank his clients and suppliers for their continued support as well as his team for their hard work, dedication and expertise.
