Maguire Air Conditioning & Ventilation are a leading air conditioning company with over ten years of continual trading. Their engineers operate throughout Dublin and the surrounding counties. They provide unbeatable prices coupled with the highest quality service to all their clients.

They specialise in installations, repairs and maintenance of fitted air conditioning systems as well as ductwork ventilation with 80% of their work being plumbing and 20% ventilation.

As Firas approved certified contractors, they have been involved in many large-scale projects and they provide a unique service in that they offer both air conditioning and ductwork, something that few of their rivals offer.

This in turn allows the Dublin based company to work across a number of sectors including commercial, industrial, manufacturing and retail to name a few.

Managing Director Paul Maguire spoke to Building Ireland about the services they provide and how important planning is on each project.

“We place a huge emphasis on planning. I have learned that through many years of experience that it is essential to plan ahead. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes in order for the job to run smoothly,” said Paul.

“Guys shouldn’t be under pressure on a project, when they are, it can lead to safety issues, which is something that we place a great deal of focus on.”

Maguire Air Conditioning & Ventilation’s priority is to produce the highest standard of work possible in order to ensure customer satisfaction every time.

“The aim on every job is to get in, get the job done to a high quality and make sure that the disruption caused to the client is kept to a minimum.

“We provide a suitable package for each client based on their requirements and ensure to accommodate each request to the best of our ability. Our successful reputation has been built on exceptional attention to detail, client satisfaction and client commitment from the outset.

“Following completion of all works carried out we will discuss your system’s aftercare and design a maintenance package for your premises location for the preventative maintenance of your system.”

Paul has many years’ experience in the industry which he feels has been invaluable since he established the business in 2019.

“Having experience in the industry is essential and to be honest, we are still learning every day. Investment is key to continued success and we are continually re-investing in the business. It is important to keep up to date with all the changes in the industry and ensure that our customers receive the best service possible.”

One of the secrets to the company’s success is Paul’s decision to keep the business at a level that he can comfortably manage, while always improving their service.

“I would be careful to keep the workload under control. We have maintained a structural growth in the company and that benefits our customers too. We are very busy at the moment and we are looking to expand at a pace that suits us.”

Having started during the middle of a recession has certainly enabled Paul to use every experience whether it be positive or negative to his advantage.

“You have to learn from your mistakes as well as what you do good and sometimes you learn more from the mistakes made. We have worked hard to develop our reputation and we would have a lot of repeat custom on the books, which is a sign that we are doing something right.”

Maguire Air Conditioning and Ventilation employs seven people, while trusted sub-contractors are used when needed, but at the end of the day, Paul takes responsibility for the actions of all his employees and subbies.

“I take ownership of every issue. That is just the way I am. This company and everyone involved in it is my responsibility.”

Paul has taken a lot from his passion and past time which is kick boxing that has saw him compete at the highest level in Ireland and abroad and he has put this into his business practice.”

He also stressed that it is very much a team effort with the likes of Financial Controller Rita Gaynor, Foreman Joseph Curley and Charge Hand Zac Whelan playing pivotal roles in the company.

“I’m very fortunate to have a good team here. We work well together and all employees are treated very well. There is room to grow in the company and I think it is important to afford them that opportunity.”

The company uses nothing but the best when it comes to the products that they install with Mitsubishi, Toshiba and Dalkian being the market leaders that Maguire’s have an account with.

Despite the desire to grow at a pace that suits them, Paul stressed that they are far from the finished article as they look to build for the future.

“I’m always happy, but never satisfied which is probably the best way to describe my attitude towards the business. As I say to people I ‘haven’t even started yet’.”
