NEW Mallow powers your projects

22 Oct, 2026

NEW (National Electrical Wholesalers) Mallow is proud to be part of Ireland’s largest independent electrical wholesale group which has been serving customers nationwide since 1935.

A one-stop shop for all your wholesale electrical requirements in North Cork and beyond, NEW Mallow has gone from strength to strength since opening for business in 2020. NEW is Ireland’s leading provider of top-quality electrical equipment and innovative solutions. With 15 strategically located branches in Ballycoolin (head office), Ballymount, Marino, Bray, Castledermot, Blackpool, Edenderry, Athlone, Limerick, Mallow, Naas, Navan, Clonshaugh, Dundalk and Little Island (opening soon), NEW’s high-quality electrical supplies are accessible to everyone.

Over the past 90-plus years, NEW has established itself as a trusted partner across various business sectors, offering thousands of electrical products and expert support to contractors, engineers, facilities managers and large-scale infrastructure projects such as Dublin Airport’s new North Runway and the new National Children’s Hospital. NEW’s strength lies in its knowledgeable team, industry relationships and an unwavering commitment to service. NEW doesn’t just deliver parts – it delivers solutions.

Furthermore, NEW is part of AWEBB (Association of Wholesale Electrical Bulk Buyers) which is an independent negotiation body with 300 member branches across the UK and Ireland. A primary function of any buying group is to use its collective strength as a tool to negotiate the best possible deal for its members. This usually revolves around price. At AWEBB, however, they believe it goes much further than this. The close relationships enjoyed with partners ensures that AWEBB members remain at the forefront of new and emerging technologies, enabling the members to be quick off the mark when new products are brought to market.

NEW Mallow offers a vast range of electrical products and solutions at competitive prices which are ready for immediate dispatch. The branch takes great pride in its customer service and product knowledge. No customer order is too big or too small for the North Cork branch whose extensive product range includes cables, tools, wiring accessories, lighting, heating, solar and renewables. The wholesaler represents all the market-leading brands, from ROBUS Lighting, Hager and Philips to EI Electronics, GARO, SALUS Controls and CLICK Lighthouse.

Repeat business and word of mouth have been central to the branch’s growth and success. Complete customer satisfaction is guaranteed regardless of the size of the order.

“We’ve received tremendous support from contractors and the general public since opening in Mallow in May 2020,” branch manager Brian O’Sullivan enthuses.

“When you think back to then, we were in the middle of the first Covid lockdown, but it gave us plenty of time to get everything in order. There was an opening for an electrical wholesaler in North Cork, which is a big area, and we haven’t looked back since. We also have customers in Cork City and parts of Kerry, so we’re growing all the time. Wave Electrical Services, Crime Guard Security Systems, MCD Electrical, Paul Lyons Electrical, James McHugh Electrical and Guardian Electrical are just some of the local contractors we deal with on a regular basis.

“We carry a huge range of products and cater for everything in terms of product spec’. We also have two delivery vans servicing North Cork and surrounding areas. We’ll deliver further for our regular customers. We support contractors as much as we can by being competitive on pricing and carrying a large volume of high-quality stock so they can get it to site as quickly as possible and ensure that there are no delays.”

Brian is full of praise for his colleagues Eamonn O’Connor, Chris O’Shea and Brian Walsh, who boast a wealth of industry experience and are dedicated to providing exceptional service and technical support. They strive to equip their customers with the information they need to make informed decisions.

“They’re great lads who enjoy a fantastic rapport with customers. I joined the Blackpool branch when it first opened in 2006 and learned the ropes under Jimmy Gould who is still manager there,” the affable Ballinhassig man explains.

Opening hours in Mallow are from 7.30am to 5pm Monday-Thursday and 7.30am to 4pm on Fridays. The early opening time caters, in particular, for the large volume of electricians who call in for products on their way to work.

“A lot of electricians working on sites in the area get what they need first thing in the morning. We will always go the extra mile to ensure our customers are happy with our service and that they are getting the right product.”

Looking to the future, Brian concludes by saying: “The main thing is to keep on top of new products and to keep abreast of all the latest happenings in the industry. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients and suppliers for their continued support as well as our staff for their hard work and expertise.”
